UPDATED: Gerald Wallace Trade Rumors

Gerald WallaceWallace

The fire under the Gerald Wallace-to-anywhere that will take him trade rumors is ablaze once again today. Before getting into the possible destinations this time around, there’s a more important question that needs to be asked:

Why are the Bobcats panicked about trading him? Is there something that we don’t know about Wallace, or is it that they’ve just made up their minds that they want to make this particular move at this particular time?

Rumors almost never come true. Here, though, there’s so much happening, and so many desperate scenarios circulating, something’s bound to go down. Otherwise, a lot of agents, executives, and owners are going to be asking Charlotte for some of their life back. The depressing thing is, the only logical outcome of this mess is Wallace getting shipped out at a cut rate to make Larry Brown feel better about his view of the world. When, from a pure impact player standpoint, Charlotte needs Wallace far more than any suitors. Good to know that LB is back and hasn’t missed a beat.

The truth is that there are no specific destinations right now, but at the same time, nobody can be counted out. It’s almost as if the Bobcats business plan is to draw attention to themselves, and hopefully jersey and ticket sales too, simply by acquiring new blood. This is the business of hope.

From the Bobcats’ perspective does it make any sense to trade Gerald Wallace?

  1. Coop says:

As I keep saying, Wallace should be the last one of the starting 5 to go; Felton isn’t very good, Rich is overpaid, Oka4 is overpaid and broken, just get rid. Jordon needs to hit the golf course before he gets humiliated like Isaiah.

  2. Promoman says:

Unless they’re getting a franchise player on the level of LeBron, Tim Duncan, or Kobe they’d better keep Gerald. Other than Emeka, Gerald’s the only hard worker that an opposing team has to account for.

  3. the depressed weezy f says:

i always thought that sacramento made a mistake in letting him go hes athletic as hell..remember that dunk years back where his feet were up to bobby suras head on a dunk

  4. the depressed weezy f says:

on othe rking related news…the maloofs and mark burnett (survivor creator) are going to make a reality show on th ekings called rebuilding the kings or something like that

  5. George W Kush Sr says:

There really is no good reason to get rid of Wallace, i cant understand why they’re hellbent on trading him.

He’s the kind of guy you keep around if you want others players, good players on the market, to want to play for you. Who wants to play with Felton, May, Morrison, etc ? They should look into trading Richardson and Felton together if anything.

  6. LakeShow84 says:

This, in my opinion, will define Jordans tenure in Charlotte..

If he gets something less (which i think he will because LB will influence the decision) hes on the fast track back to golf course..

If he gets something more (also complimentary) i will as shocked as the Old South..

But really the best move to make is no move when it comes to Wallace.. doo been bustin ass and steady improvin over the past couple of years.. Shit ill trade him for Odom anyday..

  7. LakeShow84 says:

I hate to say but trade Jrich.. he wasnt/isnt the dynamic scorer they thought he would be..

  8. JCARR says:

Gerald Wallace talks funny! And just because of that it doesnt make sense to trade him. G-Wallace game is a sign that he doesnt want to be there. His killing me fantasy wise

  9. kobeef says:

This reeks of a Larry Brown move.
Wallace is a new school player – heart and athleticism over skill – aka -he doesn’t play the “right way”

Hae to agree with Coop on this – the irony here is that Wallace is probably the only one of the starting 5 they should keep.

  10. Willy Beezy says:

trade him for lamar…..and the lakers will be even better

  11. rodnets says:

fire LB, thats the only move that makes sense, get Herrmann back.

  12. The Boss says:

Wallace will be gone by New Years. Jordan loves giving talent away. Remember when he gave away Richard Hamilton?

  13. Joeman says:

GW for Deng & Tyrus Thomas!!!! GO Bulls!!!

  14. PDXBlazer says:

I have no idea why the Bobcats are shopping Wallace so hard, but now that Richardson’s gone, it sounds like he’ll be next…I’ve always liked watching Wallace, he’s better than anybody in the league in forcing turnovers and scoring off of those forced turnovers. I’d love to see him come to Portland…maybe Outlaw and Diogu for Wallace. Outlaw’s draining 3’s right now, and Diogu’s been practicing with Oden, Aldridge, and Przybilla for 4 months now, he’s gotta be itching to get in some games.

  15. mae-mae says:

i love you !!!!!!! i remember having to bring you sunflower seeds to the phillis wheatly!!!!!! love you!!!

  16. C-BURG TO DA FULLEST says:

GERALD WALLACE IS THE MAN!!!!!! I LOVE U GERALD!!!!
