What Is Marc Iavaroni Supposed to Do With Amare?
For those of you who haven’t checked out ESPN’s Streak for the Cash fantasy game, here’s the idea: they put up a bunch of different questions every night and if you choose correctly, you can build a streak to win $1 million. Some of their “questions” are as simple as who will win – the Nets or the Heat? But others go a little bit more in depth.
One of tonight’s questions is a bit more involved, and it says a lot about what everyone was expecting Amare Stoudemire to do to the Grizzlies’ light front line: Who would score more in Arizona tonight, the Cardinals (vs. San Fran on Monday Night Football) or Amare (vs. the Grizz)?
Right now, Amare’s got 18 and the Cards have 20. Even if the San Fran defense looks porous, it probably would have been smart to go with STAT.
There’s no better evidence to Amare’s impact on this game than the look on Rudy Gay‘s face after Marc Iavaroni subbed in Hakim Warrick to guard Stoudemire. He furrowed his brow as if to say, “You’re going to try to stop him with Hakim?”

STAT looking good, but Mayo’s lighting it up now to cut the lead to single digits. Good game. Grizzlies have some great young talent with Gay, Mayo, Arthur and Gasol.

Mayo with five straight to cut the lead – he’s giving Barbosa a real tough time.

Leandro’s twisting left-handed layup around Gasol (before the Grizz started their rally) was sick — one of the best highlights of the night.

This Grizz are the early candidate for my favorite league pass team, and it’s mostly because of Mayo. Dude’s jump shot is sick, like Ray Allen sick. And underrated, too.
He’s gonna be underrated for about another week.
All that talk about not having athleticism like Wade or Bron is a lot less important if he’s gonna be winning 3 pt shootouts on the side during All Star weekend for the next 10 years.

Grizzlies got robbed on calls as usual when playing a star led team. I hate how the NBA protects its superstars, the Grizzlies never get a fair shot b/c they have never had a star and now they are too young to get fair calls which is BS. Amare got away with so much garbage b/c they didnt want to foul him out. Oh well at least people will learn that OJ is the truth and we robbed Minnesota no matter how many idiots say we gave up too much b/c we added Mike Miller in the trade, give me a break.
