Yi Isn’t That Soft

Maybe it’s that we never really got a chance to watch Yi play when he was in Milwaukee, but he showed up tonight against the Suns with a more physical mindset than we’d ever seen from him.
Trailing Vince Carter on the break, he took a power dribble in the lane and finished with two hands. He led the Nets in rebounding, pulling down a team-high 8 boards. And though Amare beasted him when they matched up on the block, Yi took that beating like a man. That’s a high compliment.

I like Yi. I’ve been rooting for him because is game is so weird. He’ll develop into a great second or third option. He just needs to play with a guy like Lebron who can compensate for his slight body.
