(Almost) Daily Fantasy – 12/30
AK-47 owners are happy today. Kirilenko had a very solid 16 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, steals, and 3 blocks. For me though, the fantasy MVP came between Jose Calderon and Stephen Jackson. As much as I love the 16 assists from Calderon, Stephen Jackson filled it up with 30 points, 7 assists, 7 boards, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 threes. Biedrens and Dwight Howard did their thing with 15 and 18 rebounds respectively. They also shot 60 and 57 percent from the line respectfully, but hey, you know what you’re getting right? Here is what else you need to know today in the world of fantasy hoops.
Russell Westbrook - You think he should have been mentioned in the night MVP’s? It’s possible. He had a great night with 31 points and 5 dimes . He just also had 6 turnovers. Still a step in the right direction. He’s the intriguing combo of absurdly talented and absurdly inconsistent. Two words: Next Year.
Kevin Love – There we go. Love had 17 points last night and got real minutes. If he and Westbrook can fully adjust to the NBA schedule and speed this season, they should be very draftable in mid rounds next season.
Jeff Green – All Green needs to do is learn how to get to the foul line and he’s a consistent fantasy threat. That’s it. As is, he’s been more consistent than ever before and had 22 and 11 last night.
Andray Blatche – 16 points, 8 boards, and 5 dimes. And all against Yao. Can he keep it up???
Mehmet Okur – Okur is back and without Boozer and Millsap was a huge part of their offense. Okur had 19 points, 10 boards, 2 steals, and 1 block last night. Hopefully he’s in your lineup this week.
The Bulls - Maddening. Vinny Del Negro, Scott Skiles, and Don Nelson are the fantasy devils. Am I missing anyone?
Dominic McGuire – This guy hates scoring the basketball. He’s actually doing some pretty good things, but he literally doesn’t shoot. Who plays 36 minutes in an NBA game and jacks only 1 shot??? Even if McGuire scores 8 points last night his line would look great. He finished with 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 blocks, and 2 steals. Oh and ZERO points. I wouldn’t claim him.
Kevin Martin - Kings fans and Kevin Martin owners rejoice. Martin appears ready to return to the Kings pitiful lineup. He should be good to go with the rust worn off by the time you set your lineup on Monday.
Steve Nash - It’s always something this season isn’t it Nash? Can you tell I’m an owner? Nash removed himself from last night’s game with back spasms. Back spasms = age.
T-Mac – How many times has the sentence, “T-Mac returned to action last night” been said or at least some variation of it? Tired of it? That’s why we suggest not drafting him. Supposedly, McGrady won’t play back to backs for awhile.

Hey Doc!
In a H2H League, what 2 players should I keep between Eric Gordon, Marco Bellinelli, & Rafer Alston?

Ric Hardwood says:
I’m not sure if Fantasy Doc is here, but Ant, Make that deal! The guys you’re losing are replaceable. The best guy is Nate. You’re getting 2 starters and one of them is Stat. Do it.

Claw says:
Ric is right, those 3 guys are bench or waiver fodder. Duhon is just a notch below Nate, I can’t believe you haven’t hit the accept button before posting that question.
Do it before the guy sobers up and cancels the trade request.

injuries to tmac and wade are why i no longer play fantasy bball. it’s not fun anymore when you’re staying up nights to make sure that nesterovic gets another 2 offensive rebounds before the night is through . . .

word on nba.com is that hinrich is just 2-3 weeks away from coming back. what is his value when he does return? 14 points 5 assists 1.5 steals 1.5 threes possible?
December 30th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
the fantast doctor says:
This out of order but…
Ant – you’re getting duhon and amare right??? If so, everyone is 100 percent right. Press accept and then gloat.
Jayo – that’s tough. Belinelli is probably the guy if you HAVE to.
Moxwest – obviously nash is still nasty but age is a factor as is terry porter. My league keeps three players each year and he is longer a slam dunk keeper.
Jwest – drop jack.
Billy hoyle- nice call.my bad.
Wilson – a. Hinrich wasn’t good when healthy. B. Delnegro is impossible. C. Hinrich is no savior.
Green- don’t cut tmac. It stinks but don’t cut him.

Good looking out guys!!

Dodge Taylor says:
Doc,
As a fellow Nash owner I feel your pain.
As a fantasy GM, is there anything worse than seeing a star (or any player you have on your roster) go down less than 10 minutes in to a game?? If they go down at the end or sit out the next game, that’s ok … but 9 minutes of almost no production hurts that much more (by chewing up a game played).

Three Stacks says:
I wanna go on public record to say that I will kill Carlos Boozer. He’s in LA right now, so he shouldn’t be too far from me. If Boozer gets killed, y’all know it was Three Stacks.
Fucking pussy, I don’t care if my fantasy team suffers, I hope the doctor accidentally saws his leg off.
