J-Kidd had a big night…Wow, there were a lot of stats last night. LeBron went off for a birthday 38, Jason Kidd had 14 points, 16 assists, 4 steals and 7 boards, but we’ll give MVP of the night to Marcus Camby. Camby had an insane 24 rebounds, 15 points, 4 assists, and 3 blocks. There is a little too much to cover on last night but here are some quick hits. Happy New Year.
Mario Chalmers – 21 points, 6 threes, 8 assists, and ZERO turnovers. Pretty amazing rookie year for Chalmers. He isn’t always consistent, but his minutes have been, and Chalmers has obviously been a very nice surprise.
Steve Blake – Another major surprise. We know Blake can play, but the Blazers are so deep that you’d think his minutes would drop off. Not so. He is not a week to week start, but he’s a solid bench player or reliable pick up. He had 21 points, 5 threes, and 3 assists last night.
Greg Oden – Yes, he had a double-double (13 and 11) but what you really care about is that he played through an ankle injury. No more coddling.
Mike James – He really needs to be owned. He had another solid 16 and 7 last night, and as much as you (and me) may hate his game, he’s hitting threes and scoring.
Jason Terry – When will the turn-back-the-clock year stop? Five more threes, and 29 points last night (3 dimes and 2 blocks as well!).
Kevin Martin – Welcome back. 31 minutes and 20 points is an awesome sign for owners.
Grant Hill – Hill should really be owned in most 12-team and higher leagues. He had 15 points, 7 boards, 4 assists and an awesome 6 steals. He’s still smart enough to find ways to contribute somewhere almost nightly.
Baron Davis – Mike Dunleavy Sr. suggested that Baron’s back is hurting and contributing to his so-so performance. I’ve said it before: I love Baron and his potential for numbers, but there is ALWAYS something wrong with him and for me, he falls into the undraftable category because of it.
Paul Davis – He’s be a short-termer at best, but Davis seems to be the fill-in of choice for the Clippers while Zach (and Kaman) are out. Davis had 18 and 5 last night and has potential for more boards.
Eric Gordon – I’m still impressed. 24 more points and the consistency, especially with the field goal percentage, seems to be always there.
Boris Diaw – I’m not going to say it. OK, I am. I love Diaw. 20 points, 3 threes, 6 boards and 4 dimes. He may or may not have had 6 turnovers too!
Mickael Piertrus – Cut him. He’s out another month with a broken wrist.

20 POINTS, 14 REBOUNDS, 4 ASSISTS, 3 BLOCKS…. and the defensive assignment of TD. He also got the W.
