(Almost) Daily Fantasy

As always, drop your roster questions in the comments box and I’ll try to answer as many as possible…
T-Mac – Dr. James Andrews prescribed one week’s rest for McGrady’s knee? One week and all is supposed to be better? Clearly not good news for owners.
Stephen Jackson/Jamal Crawford – Well, we said Captain Jack was tough. Jackson unexpectedly played last night… a lot. Jackson played 49 minutes in the OT loss, shooting poorly (because of the hand?) but dishing 11 dimes. Many of those assists were to Jamal Crawford who went off for 40.
Don Nelson – Can I complain about him one more time? He’s sputtering nonsense about Monta Ellis. If you own Ellis you’re being patient anyway. Don’t even read Nellie’s comments. The man isn’t to be trusted.
The Bobcats – Are the Bobcats becoming viable fantasy options? They put up a whole lot of stats last night with Okafor (24 points), Felton (14 dimes), and J-Rich (25 points) all having very strong nights. Here’s my concern: Larry Brown said after the game that a lot of players played very well (coincidence that MJ was in attendance?). Brown basically said that the team performed over their heads. The best sign from last night came from J-Rich. Richardson looks completely healthy threw down a couple of nasty dunks.
Ryan Gomes – Gomes is the hot pick up right now. Not only is he playing very well, but the minutes are only helped by the Corey Brewer disaster. Gomes is a classic ‘tweener but he’s shooting the ball extremely well right now from the outside. He hit 4 more threes last night on his way to 16 points and 6 boards.

what’s the latest on J-Smoove? he’s been sitting on my bench since his injury but it’s gotta be close to time for him to return right? i have Marquis Daniels playing right now waiting for him to come back so when do you think that will be?

Scott says:
How much longer would you hold on to Dalembert if your big spots are generally taken care of, and there’s some solid waiver guys available (Millsap, Q, Westbrook, Brook Lopez, Pryzbilla, even Tyson Chandler is available in one of the 2 leagues I have Dalembert).

In one of the 2 leagues i’m a part of, both Kevin Martin and Josh Howard are available. Should i pick one (which one?) of them up? Or should I wait things out?

@4, dude you in a 6 team league or something? depends on who you gotta drop and what you need..
@doc. i have augustin, felton, and okafor.. needless to say i have been very pleased. as for augustin, should i drop him for westbrook since augustin is goin back to the bench and brook’s startin now?

Doc,
I have Richardson on my team… after lasts nights performance I immediately thought about him being a sell high candidate. What do you think?
Perhaps for Corey Maggette or possibly I could swing a trade for Jamal Crawford…
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:41 pm
isotope says:
@tp. Its a 10 team league. Both players have been injured for a minute and were dropped after missing multiple games.

isotope says:
I too have Richardson (in my other league) but I wouldnt give him up. He was putting up good numbers before going down and is back to doing the same. I dont think he’s going to get worse, only better.

tp says:
@ isotope,
i would take crawford over richardson, though i do expect richardson to consistently improve (i had him last year, he was great).
but crawford just had a huge game, plus is playing on the warriors of all teams.. he’s going to be a monster
i would definitely pick up both kmartin and smokeout howard, but it depends on what u need and who you are willing to part with (they could become good trade bait later too)

fantasy doctor says:
JCarr – I wouldn’t count on a D’Antoni-less Barbosa.
N-truh-kit- Josh Smith says he ready to go. Expect him this week.
Scott- Dalembert is a killer right now. I wouldn’t cut him but some bench alternatives would be nice.
Loganlight – Jrich is always injury prone and larry brown always kills value. You AND the bobcats may have the same trade high idea though.
More later.

now they are saying McGrady will miss 3 weeks – http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AqkPEpk4HQmb9eMz93DFx.G8vLYF?slug=ap-mcgradyout&prov=ap&type=lgns – is luther head a viable option at this point in a 14 team L?

Def says:
Would you drop Varejao for Gomes? He’s vanilla but is consistent with the fg% and boards.
December 2nd, 2008 at 5:26 pm
fantasy doctor says:
Tp- I’m not sold on westbrook yet and I think LB believes he needs Augustin to play.it’s a toss up.
Sbucketz- depends on position a bit. I’m a Rudy F. believer but if you need a forward, pull the trigger.

Lady Luck says:
I’ve got McGrady, Carmelo, and Stephen Jackson. All three are injured. Should I hold on to everyone at this point?
