(Almost) Daily Fantasy

Quick one today fellas because the office afternoon party is about to begin and the Celtics NBA vending machine is getting loaded up with booze (no, seriously). MVP of the night goes to Mr. Camby. 27 rebounds in a game is probably enough to win you the week. There are some important pickups in here so let’s get to it.

Marreese Speights – The pick up of the day. If Brand’s shoulder is going to keep him out long, Speights is a must own. He can score, board, and block shots and showed stats in the preseason and when he’s gotten opportunities. He dropped 12 points and 7 boards last night.

Monta Ellis – He’ll be activated tomorrow but he isn’t ready to return. He is doing some light shooting. He is still a ways away.

Paul Millsap – The Millsap train rolls on! Boozer is getting an MRI and his return is going to be delayed. We don’t know how much yet so don’t go too crazy, but if you’re a Millsap owner, you’re fired up right now.

Mickael Pietrus – Pietrus is back practicing and should be good to go next. He isn’t going to be a savior, but if you’re in a roto league he’s not a bad addition. If you’re in a head to head league, he isn’t exactly a good addition. Somewhere in the last sentence is Pietrus’ value.

Eric Gordon – I’m officially a fan. EG is becoming a regular in the Daily Fantasy. It isn’t just that he’s consistently scoring in double digits and being amazingly efficient from the field, he’s playing absurd minutes every night. 47 in last night’s OT loss. I don’t think Ricky Buckets return hurts the value too much.

Antione Walker –
Buy out or no buy out, he is not worthy of a roster spot. Those days are done.

Marco Belinelli – Belinelli hit 5 threes last night. It could very well be that he is simply being showcased right now for a trade. Either way, roto leaguers who need threes should think about the pick up. I don’t trust him in head to head… Yet.

Andray Blatche –
He’s starting, playing consistent minutes and playing pretty solid ball. 12 and 11 last night. Centers are never deep. Pick him up.

Hey Doc, if you had no bench and you had to start them how would you rank the three players below?

Russell Westbrook, Mario Chalmers or Jamario Moon?

  2. s.bucketz says:

Just wanted to bring this to everyones attention right quick..
“Mike Dunleavy credited his solid season last year to getting away from the Warriors, the San Francisco Chronicle is reporting.

“That wasn’t possible out there,” said Dunleavy, referring to Oakland. “It’s no coincidence so many guys who come from Golden State go elsewhere and succeed. The proof is in the pudding. I take responsibility for certain things. You look at guys who went elsewhere after leaving Golden State, they found a way. Whatever that means or says, you could read it through.”

  3. MoxWestCoastRep says:

I’m worried not only the nagging injury, but decreased production with Monta back. Should I drop him for like an Eric Gordon?

    yo doc!
the wizards scare me. blatche and young are already playing tank-minutes. i have jamison and butler and tried to get rid of one of em all season but didn’t figure out a trade yet. dunno how to handle them. in a trade, what should i try to get? butler: is top15 too high? jamison? playing top15 right now, but no way to get equal value! help me out on the strategy, please.

  8. chuck says:

hey doc Ive been holding onto sessions hoping his minutes might come back with the injury prone redd and ridnour should i drop him and add speights? and is speights gunna be starting or are they gunna go small and start lou williams to make the pace faster?

  9. The Fantasy Doctor says:

FYI – We currently have a bartender in the office and I’m only a couple drinks deep. The advice will get worse as the day/night get later. here we go though…

    Smackdown – 1. Chalmers. 2. Westbrook. 3. Moon

    s.bucketz – Haslem if anyone.

    MoxWestCoastRep – Don’t drop Maggette.

Whos that – Thad will be good and he should be owned but I really like Speights as a temp solution to Brand. Louis Williams is still inconsistent.

len-e – Butler has real trade value if you want to move him. Jamison will be tough to move.
