(Almost) Daily Fantasy

Elton BrandNo EB tonight.

Sorry I missed yesterday. It’s called (Almost) Daily Fantasy for a reason! Props to Dirk for the fantasy MVP of the night award. Here are the guys who you care about today.

Carlos Boozer/Elton Brand – Both power forwards will miss tonight’s game. Owners should hope to have them back for next week.

Jameer Nelson – Jameer looks like he’ll be in lineups for next week. Good news for Nelson owners, bad news for people who used Anthony Johnson to plug a hole.

Kevin Love –
It’s funny, I’m a huge fan of what the T-Wolves have done with Love from a basketball standpoint. They’ve eased the big man along and let him get comfortable and confident with the NBA game. It might be time to give him the go ahead next to Al Jefferson though. Love

Shaq –
Memo to the Suns and Terry Porter – it’s time to take off the leash. It seems like Phoenix is consistently trying things. They need to try to win. Shaq played only 25 minutes last night after taking the game off the night before. That isn’t good for Phoenix or owners.

Anthony Roberson - For daily league players Roberson might be tempting for tonight. He’s coming off a strong game and Nate is out once again (most likely). I wouldn’t suggest him unless your desperate for late week threes.

AK-47 -
Kirilenko is a game-timer for tonight. That has not been a very good sign this season. Everyone with the exception of Stephen Jackson has seemed to go on the conservative. That being said, he looks good to go for next week.

J.J. Barea – It was hard for Barea’s name not to jump out at me in the box scores. Puerto Rico’s favorite son scored 18 points on with 3 boards and 4 dimes in 30 minutes. He’s certainly going to go to the bench when Josh Howard returns but if Kidd, Terry, or Howard were going to lose significant time, J.J. may find his way to value.

Doc, what do you think of this trade: my Maggette and Tyson Chandler for his Josh Smith and Matt Barnes. I just pulled the trigger.. thinking Maggette may lose production when Monta Ellis gets back.

  2. Lady Luck says:

Doc, PLEASE ANSWER! My team is currently in second place:

    McGrady
    Stephen Jackson
    Derrick Rose
    Jason Kidd
    Rajon Rondo
    Carmelo Anthony
    Shawn Marion
    Paul Pierce
    Travis Outlaw
    Paul Milsap
    Spencer Hawes
    Udonis Haslem
    Nene

Should I drop TMac or even Outlaw at this point? Monta Ellis, Martell Webster, Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook, Aaron Brooks, Varajao are all available on the wire. My low points in my league are FT%, FG%, and high turnovers. Any thoughts?

  3. Three Stacks says:

Someone just dropped Millsap, I have Boozer. I wanna pick him up as a handcuff, who do you think I should drop?

-Rudy Fernandez, Thaddeus Young, Marquis Daniels, Steve Blake, Nate Robinson

The rest of my squad is Dirk, Iggy, Devin, Calderon, T. Murph, David Lee, Manu, and I don’t wanna drop any of em.

  4. fake fantasy doc says:

For #2: If it’s roto and you play 10 players, get rid of Troutlaw and stash Monta Ellis away since you have a solid 10 already. T-Mac can go. Play Trevor Ariza to balance out your high turnover issue.

  5. nckdmss says:

Haha, no comments allowed on the reality TV post? Weak…

  6. Ric Hardwood says:

    Doc,
I’m currently in 3rd place in a 14 team league.
I was just offered Paul Pierce and Ariza for my TJ Ford and Marvin Williams. As a Celtics fan, I’m very intrigued.
But should I take it? My team consists of:

    Iverson
    Kobe
    Ford
    Hedo
    Duncan
    Thornton
    Biedrins
    Ilgauskas
    Przybilla
    Marvin Williams
    Maxiell
    Speights

What do you suggest. Thanks in advance…

  7. nckdmss says:

When is Monta due back? And, are we even sure he’ll get burn right away? How many games are people thinking he’ll get in this season?

dmitry of jersey – You got the best player. It’s close though.

Lady Luck – Cut outlaw and pick up Monta. Outlaw won’t help you and Ellis will when he gets back.

Three Stacks – I like Blake but it doesn’t look like you need to play him. Peace Steve!

Ric Hardwood – Make that deal. Now.

nckdmss – It isn’t clear and you can’t believe Don Nelson. My guess? Late Jan.

  9. Ric Hardwood says:

    I accepted the deal… Thanks Doc…

  10. Knicksfan says:

Doc – should brand’s hamstring in any way stop me from accepting this offer:
    I get EB for J-Rich + Rudy F

    Thanks

    To anyone:

SHould i trade jsmooth, felton, anf haslem for bdavis and elton brand?

  12. rapsfanfolife says:

Doc, I’m currently 2nd in a pretty competitive h2h (two games back).
Teams built on rebounds, blocks, points, fg% (nene has been a massive surprise), and 3 pts..steals/ft%/To toss up, assists i never win.

    Devin Harris
    Randy Foye
    Ben Gordon
    OJ Mayo
    Danny Granger
    Wilson Chandler
    Antwan Jamison
    Travis Outlaw
    Michael Redd
    Andrew Bogut
    Tim Duncan
    Nene
    Elton Brand

I really want to move Brand ( i HATED taking him w/ my first pick) and while he shores up all my categories he isnt playing like a player deserving a first pick, think he’ll turn it around?

LBJ is on the trading block (shocking i know) and I wanan use brand+harris+foye central to a deal to grab em. bad idea?..first place (+2 games on me) wins the same categories I do and imo would beat me unless i can shore up rebounding and scoring a bit. I feel that Harris is playing over his head, i’m just not sure if he’ll keep that scoring avg way up and foyes value is up atm as well after a pretty dismal start. Definitely sacrificing great guard play (from harris mostly) but I feel foye is not needed for my squad and this is a good way to move em. I know wat LBJ brings to the table, if anything I see myself using him to swing another deal to REALLY shore up my stats. amare comes to mind in a deal favouring me. Is this overzealous management and i should just let my squad play out. 2nd place atm isnt bad, but hell I want 1st.

Also outlaw has been disappointing, should i drop em? ive been mulling over it forever but even when hes garbage, his 2 3s, 1 block, 1 steal hybrid lines keep me from doing so.

    /rant.

  13. Lady Luck says:

So you all think I should hold on to McGrady for now?

  14. Mad Max says:

I’d keep McGrady only if you really want to lose your league.
While you’re at it, try to pick up Shitberry and trade for Lamar Odom

  15. qUeSt??? says:

jjbarea aint puerto rico’s favorite son, but he is pretty good, he is one of the reasons they let devin harris go….when jkidd retires, barea will take over
