Antonio McDyess Is Officially A Piston Again

After all the speculation and the interest from other squads, including teams with much better chances of actually winning a championship this season, Antonio McDyess has officially re-signed with the Detroit Pistons.

A phenomenon I like to call “The P.J. Brown Syndrome,” where teams yearn for past-their-prime power forwards in search of a veteran locker room presence and a lift off the bench, is most likely the case here.

Clearly McDyess wasn’t a large part of Detroit’s winning ways pre-Iverson deal, having only played in the team’s first two games this season, so why so much desire for the 34-year-old?

According to the Detroit Free Press, “Pistons coach Michael Curry has said that McDyess will return to his role of first big man off the bench,” and should be in uniform tonight against the Wizards.

Do you think McDyess can help the Pistons get back on track?

Yes, Antonio will help. Anyone that takes minutes away from Kwame Friggin Brown is helping. I think the Pistons are better with McDyess in the lineup. He stretches the D and opens up Wallace.

That’s what the pistons organazation have said. Only his presence on and off the court will tell.

Why is he wearing a nuggets jersey, if he is back on the pistons?

I think you have to have players on your team that understand how to play….and Dice is one of them….

Especially if you want to get to the next level….or deep in the playoffs…the pistons weren’t going to far with Kwame….

Dice’s value wouldn’t have been the same on the nuggets…they are missing to many pieces…inconsistency…at the 2, 3, and 5 spots….

He’s better off with the pistons…good move!

  7. LakeShow84 says:

Sad, he was one of the only Pistons i liked.. He shouldve signed with a contender.. He didnt see the smoke in the air?? that ship is burning baby..

But oh wait my bad AI is going to lead them to the promised land.. YEAH RIGHT

  8. FedEx says:
