Assistant GM Tony DiLeo will apparently be the interim coach until a replacement is named.

Dat Nukka look blowed anyway. lmao

  3. RonNation says:

It’s funny because I think last night when Cleveland was playing Philly the announcers were joking that since they weren’t doing to well they should just fire their coach(since that seems to be the current trend).

  4. JCARR says:

A lot of coaches are getting their thrones diminished… I want to see Avery Johnson coach again.

  5. Prof says:

Wow!!! Which fired coach do they want. Perhaps Sam Mitchell…he will teach them to play the pick and roll.

  6. that's whats up says:

    Mo No !!!

  7. Richard Wellner says:

    No Mo !!!

  8. doc says:

    Holla back bitch.

  9. George W Kush Sr says:

I can see Avery in Philly, tighten up the defense. I think they want Flip though, to get more offensive creativity.

  10. that's whats up says:

    No Mo’ Mo !!

Saw this one coming… too bad just like Eddie Jordan it didn’t wasn’t his fault

  12. tooez804 says:

The WORST thing they did was waste money signing Elton Brand and giving the new A.I. all that money..bad management..too bad the coach has to take the fall..

  13. Homeless J says:

I feel bad for Mo. I saw him get unceremoniously ousted from the Blazers when he took the blame that wasn’t really his, now it looks like the same thing is happening. Poor guy can’t catch a break.

I think it’s retarded to axe a coach 20 games into the season. For one, where’s your replacement? It’s either some bum of an assistant coach that isn’t good enough to get hired as a head coach somewhere or it’s a decent, recently fired coach that will take time to instill his system into the team. You’d be better off sticking with what you’ve got. I guess it’s just tempting for owners to pull that kill-the-coach trigger and let the lowest tenured but highest profiled staff member of the team take the blame for everyone else. Personally I would wait till the offseason, but I guess that’s why I’m not the owner of a team.

but you should be Homeless J. you should be.

some of these teams should have open tryouts for management positions too instead of just for roster spots or training camp invites

  15. Michorizo says:

He should have never helped that girl with the national anthem.

  16. the rocket cat says:

Half the league’s coaches will be fired during the 2010/2011 season. After all those moves, every team in the league is going to expect to get better. For half of them, it isn’t going to happen.

  17. Celts Fan says:

this is BS. NOt all teams can add a new star and mesh right away. Last year’s Celtics are the exception, it typically takes a year to get to know each other and that 2nd year’s the “We gotta win now” year. too bad, great, GREAT guy, solid coach…

  18. Richard Wellner says:

    FINALLY.

  19. Obama says to McCain "Hows my @ss taste"? says:

The worst thing YOU could have done was call Iggy the “new A.I”. LMAOOO!!!

Anyways, I feel bad for Cheeks, he seem like a good guy that got handed a raw deal. And LOL @ the media and fans that claimed the Sixers were soooo much better off without Iverson. The fact is they were no better without him then they were with him, he might as well have just stayed…I know he had his faults and was the one that demanded the trade, but he at least kept them relevent. Now they are a not so good team and have no franchise player. The Sixers overachieved towards the end of last season, that team is far off from anything special.
