Cavs are on fire
Delonte WestYou knew Cavs/Raptors had potential to be ugly, but for a couple minutes, it was looking worse than Jamie Foxx in drag.
Toronto’s first two offensive possessions begat two turnovers, which begat two breakaway dunks for LeBron. In the process ‘Bron broke the Cavs franchise record for steals (held by Mark Price). We’re not sure where he ranks on Cleveland’s all-time list for blocks, but he shattered the mark for memorable, opponent-soul-crushing swats about two weeks ago. Brad Daughtery definitely wasn’t doing stuff like THIS. (It seems this night will be a coronation, as Ilgauskas is just one rebound short of Daughtery’s franchise record.)
Overall, the Cavs have looked as sharp as any team in the League on their best night. Mo Williams and Delonte West have both broken out AND 1 quality crosses, ‘Bron is throwing behind-the-back dimes, Big Z is sticking that baseline J, and even Ben Wallace got a nice dunk. Through the first quarter, Cleveland has a 10-point lead, dropping eight assists to just one turnover, while the Raps already have coughed it up five times.

Dagomar says:
Having a decent team for a couple years made me forget how pathetically entertaining it can be to be a brutal team.
Now I sit by the TV wondering:
Will the Raps put up enough of a fight so I can watch Lebron for three quarters?
Will I win a bet with my friend? She says they’ll lose by 30, I said 15.
Will the Raps have 20 fewer rebounds than their opposition again?
What role player will look like an allstar against the Raptor defense tonight?
How many minutes will Joey Graham play? Will it be good Joey or bad Joey?
Who’s in next year’s draft again?
How many African kids could be fed for a year off Jermain O’Neal’s salary?

Record night in Cleaveland…. Its a shame how a talented raptors team has combusted from a potential power house in the east. LBJ is on his way to a 40 point night right now.

I’m a Cavs fan and all, but it really does seem that Dime has developed a fair-weather-fan type crush on the Cavs this year. hm…

@Vinny — I was at that shoot. His pants were huge. (And those two dogs almost murdered another dog.)

Wanda!? Where’ve you been baby? I missed ya!

Austin Burton says:
I actually didn’t see the other dog except for it’s feet. We were in the outdoor common area of Delonte’s condo, and there was a not-quite-see-through wall that had a small space under it (small enough for a skinny dog to slip under). You could see the form of another dog passing by, and as soon as it made a noise, Delonte’s dogs took off towards the wall and were trying to get under it. Delonte and his girl had to pull them back, and it took all Delonte’s strength to get his bigger dog under control.

Gerard says:
Who is the Raptors ‘lock-down’ perimeter defender? It seems like SG/SF feast on this team.
December 9th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Dagomar says:
Gerard: that used to be Mo Pete (the guy Kobe torched for most of his 81 points). Now it’s Jamario Moon, who would be the worst defensive player on any good team.

what a debacle… the raptors are getting uglier and uglier…
I think all of LBJs point have come from dunks and uncontested 3s.

Sweet English says:
‘Mo Williams and Delonte West have both broken out AND 1 quality crosses’
So they travelled left, carried right, double dribbled and thrown the ball in the crowd to hide the fact they cant shoot.

Theres no fight left in the Raps right now.
Bosh looks like hes given up on his team.
Calderon looks confused and is losing his swagger.
Bargnani been confused.
J.O. looks frustrated.
and poor interim Coach Triano might have lost the room after only 3 games.
I cant wait to see Calderon try to cover TJ Ford in the opencourt tomorow. If we lose to Indiana at home, Colangelo has to make a move.
