Chris Paul Looks To Tie Steals Record Tonight
In case you didn’t know, Chris Paul is The Master Thief. In 104 consecutive games, CP3 has recorded at least one swipe and looks to tie former San Antonio Spurs guard Alvin Robertson with a steal against the Grizzlies tonight.
To put this streak in perspective, Paul’s first steal came April 13, 2007 in the Hornets final regular-season game – in Oklahoma City. Not only does Byron Scott think Paul has a chance to break the record, at the rate he’s going, he think he could put it out of reach.
“He has a chance,” said Scott. “It’s 20-something years (since Robertson set the mark). And he’s got a chance to break it … he could put it to a point where his grandkids might see it broken 50 years from now.”
Even at a league leading 2.7 thefts per game, Paul won’t come close to be eclipsing Robertson’s single season record of 301 steals (3.67 per game), a feat he accomplished playing for the Spurs during the 1985-86 season.
How long do you think CP3 can keep his streak alive?

Watch some how some way he won’t get a steal tonight. He will be s step to late or over playing.

I think it also shows how sloppy players are these days.
He’s quick, but most players just shouldn’t handle the rock

i got nothing against chris paul; (in fact, some of you on here laughed at me when i called him the best pg in the nba 3yrs ago), i hope he breaks the record tonight and keep pace to setting a new steals record.
but its a record that, lets face it, just really isn’t that important

Definitely think it’s a testament more to how sloppy player are now a days. This run and gun offensive and the NBA pushing more scoring for a more entertaining game has contributed to Chris Pauls record. This cat is a ball player though I like how he approaches the game he’s got heart and game to back it up.
