Corey Brewer out for the season

After injuring his right knee in the Wolves’ loss to the Nuggets over the weekend, Corey Brewer received some awful news: he has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season. From the Minneapolis Star-Tribune:

Brewer fell twice in the second half Saturday. The first time, he went back into the team’s locker room briefly but returned to play before he fell again.

“I don’t know when it was but I could gather he got hurt on the first one because he asked to come out and Corey never asks to come out,” [Randy] Wittman said. “He’s never asked me out of a game before in a year and a half. I thought Corey was starting to fall into understanding how to play, playing with some good confidence. He gives us great energy off the bench. We’re going to miss that.”

While Brewer has been a disappointment offensively since the Wolves made him the 7th overall pick in the ‘07 Draft (5.9 ppg, 38% FG’s), he is the team’s best defender and an integral part of the rebuilding process.

Damn I thought he been out since the Gators won that 2ND chip.

i dont think this kid is gonna pan out. i thought he had the tools to be solid but after seeing him play, (when fully healthy) i thought he looked like a D-League player

  3. Scott says:

Its a shame to see this happen to the guy. He’s clearly a project player, but as the article says he’s got the D, and he has/had the athleticism, hopefully he’s able to recover fully, he’s a good kid who clearly works hard.

  4. ian says:

maybe he’ll get himself in the godam gym

its just pathetic how weak he is, if you’re guarding lebron or kobe you need strong upper body etc etc

this could be a blessing in disguise, too many times i see these college kids come to the L and then collect their millions of dollars and thats it….they dont work hard enough or aren’t bothered to work at their game and get a big contract

if he comes back like he is now…he could be an 8th man on a mediocre team
    ih

Wait….you mean to tell me that this kid TORE HIS ACL, and then CAME BACK INTO THE GAME?! What the…

  6. Amar says:

his carlos boozer sized eyebrows are causing undue strain on his m/s system. same thing why carlos was injured for two straight years bulking up so that the rest of his body could withstand the eyebrow weight.

  7. Austin Burton says:

See the smile in that photo? I swear Corey’s been wearing it since the week of the Draft. He’s the happiest player in the NBA; hopefully this doesn’t bring him down too much.

I wish I got paid millions to suck at Basketball.

  9. JCARR says:

    @AB
haha try to get a high school yearbook pic of Corey. Imagine that. And he wont be unhappy b/c now he doesnt have to worry about getting burned by tony parker. When he supposively is a great defender. Corey is going to get paid to watch his teammates and cheerleaders.

  12. d1n says:
