Damion James Is a Lottery Pick

Not to get too excited about a prospect after one performance, but watching Damion James tonight against Villanova, this guy looks like a lottery pick.
James is a 6-7 small forward with two-guard tools, and the physicality to post up a smaller defender. He looks just as comfortable stepping into a three at the top of the key as he does backing his man down on the block.
With Villanova’s athletic 6-8 forward Dante Cunningham guarding him throughout the night, James has posted 16 points (7-11 FG), 6 rebounds, 2 assists almost effortlessly. Though ‘Nova’s fought so hard to stay in this game, James and A.J. Abrams have been too much to handle.
He might not go as high as Stephen Curry, but he’s going to be in the middle of the first round if he keeps playing like this.

Where is Curry projected to be drafted? I would think late lottery at best. J.J. Redick might have forever ruined the draft hopes of every future college shooter with questionable athleticism.

Damian James and Earl Clark…two lockdown NBA defenders in 5 years. Curry is a top 10 pick now that he is showing he can play the point and be unselfish.

Jeremy J is right. Curry is showing he’s more than just a scorer. He can do damn near anything offensively, and his handles, court vision, and ability to initiate the offense are much better than he’s given credit for. He’ll be straight in the league, and more importantly, he’ll be able to play point guard. He messes around and puts on 10-15 more pounds, he’ll be a legit combo guard (a la Ben Gordon).
