My boys from Sneaker Freaker put out one of the dopest mags out there. Started in 2003, the Australian magazine was the first and only international sneaker magazine to document the modern footwear craze as a global phenomenon.
Case in point: Nick Schonberger’s amazing article on Dikembe Mutombo’s signature model from adidas. These shoes are dope, and ushered adidas into the basketball arena alongside Nike (Michael Jordan) and Converse (Larry Johnson).
Read the whole story HERE and let us know what you think.
Would you rock Mutombo’s signature model?

Shit, I still sport a pair when I go out to the clubs. You should see how well they go with my Cross Colours, and giant South Africa medallion.
Word up!

Yo these reminded me of the Hakeem shoes I had back in middle school because of the number printed on it.

Remember these? Sorry, only picture I could find. Too bad they are broke, but I guess that’s basically how mine looked after a while.

great shoes, would have been better designed if Deke was from Kenya, as per the shield and spear motif that is iconic of the East African nation (where my dad was born).
