(Almost) Daily Fantasy - 12.9

Tough call for fantasy MVP between Dwight Howard (23, 22, and 6 blocks), Wade (41, 8, and 3) or Kevin Durant (41, 10, and 4). We’re going with Durant for no other reason that the other guys have had it before and Durant owners needed this in a bad way.

Von Wafer – I feel smart. As I anticipated, Wafer started at shooting guard for the Rockets last night and had 15 points. He’s not going to be a great T-Mac filler, best desperate times call for desperate measures.

Shaq – Shaq is questionable for both tonight and tomorrow night because of the death of his Great Grandmother. The Suns have been cautious with Shaq for back to backs anyway, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him miss one of these two games.

Antonio McDyessHe’s back with the Pistons, a signing that may help Detroit a little bit and doesn’t help fantasy owners at all.

Ron Artest – Ron Ron was in a whole lot of lineups this week. Although he missed last night’s game with the sprained ankle, he is questionable for the rest of the week. If he’s in your lineup, there is still a little hope.

The Warriors – With no Maggette and Captain Jack, the assumption was that Crawford and one other of Nellie’s bunch would go off. Turns out, it was a balanced attack. Azubuike, Brandon Wright, Andris Biedrins, Anthony Morrow, Belinelli, Turiaf, CJ Watson, and Crawford all had at least 9 points. Biedrins had 21 boards and Turiaf added 5 blocks.

Gerald Wallace – It looks like Wallace will miss both Wednesday and Thursday’s games following a death in his family.

Keith Bogans – I think I mentioned it last week - it was only a matter of time before Bogans stepped into the lineup in Orlando over Reddick. Bogans had three 3’s last night (and nothing else) but is going to get the minutes in Orlando. Reddick should 100% start to be looked at by Euro League fantasy owners.

Russell Westbrook – I’m still not sold. Westbrook’s numbers last night were 8 points, 8 boards, 7 dimes, and 6 turnovers. I think he’ll be a much better own next season.

Luis Scola - Scola had a HUGE game last night going for 15 and 16 but is still a much better roto player than fantasy. He’s going to help with boards. FG% and FT% over the course of the season, but doesn’t do it game to game.

  2. Up and Away says:

    hilarious… AND TRUE!

  3. JH says:

Shaq’s Great Grandmother died??? How old was the lady??? Shaq is in his 30’s…Damn.

  4. Frodo T. Baggins says:

Just a matter of time before D Rose is one of the top three point guards in the NBA

  5. JJ Redick says:

Ok, so when I took the starting spot, did you think that Keith Bogans was going to Europe? No. Good joke, though. Anyone want to bet that I’ll still be in the NBA next year? No? STFU and GTFOH.

Speaking of which, how’s that Ramon Sessions pick working out for ya, Doc?

  6. nick says:

    doc,

i have a trade offer of me giving up tony parker for micheal redd. thoughts?

  7. Mooks says:

    Hey Doc…

Currently unowned in my league: Odom, Thad Young, Nate Rob, Gomes, JR Smith.

My squad is short on 3s, steals and FG%. Are any of these guys worth dropping Randy Foye or Kendrick Perkins for?

  8. Vago says:

With Artest, Boozer and Josh Howard on my team,
should I blast myself now or wait?

  9. Hugo says:

Vago, looks like Josh will be playing tonight. Wait at least until midnight. If he doesn’t enter the game, then you go on and blast yourself. It could be worse, you could have T-Mac also.

  10. dmitry of jersey says:

Doc, im surprised you feel that way about westbrook. he’s high on TO’s for sure, but for those of us who never win TO’s in the first place he is putting up good PG stats. and since he just got annointed as the starter the only way to go is up.

  11. askkkk 'bout it says:

What Warrior would you pick up amongst that second tier? Azubuike, Brandon Wright, Anthony Morrow, Belinelli, Turiaf, CJ Watson?

Any word on Capt. Jack’s wrist?

  12. Stan van Gundy says:

JJ shut your traphole and either go work on your handles, defense, passing, rebounding, defensive stance, conditioning, court vision, etc or go to bed. You’ve got a bench to warm, sonny.

  13. tim says:

    DOC!

Should I trade Jermaine O Neal for Andrei Kirlenko straight up…I was offered today… I could use a consistent steals guy, plus Kirilenko does a little bit of everything…

What do you think…I’m head to head league, 8 teams, and i’m currently 2.5 games on everyone…

  14. fake fantasy doc says:

    tim:

Kirilenko is better. Trade Jermaine O’Neal while he has some value. The key is to trade injury prone centers like Jermaine O’Neal and Chris Kaman before they get injured. What can you get for Chris Kaman now? Maybe a ww guy like Russell Westbrook.
