“Get mad at the rim!”

That was the advice from ESPN’s Mark Jackson to Josh Smith last night after he took a little of that extra ‘tude off Kendrick Perkins‘ face. The Celtics went on to get the win, but I doubt they’d be mad if the Hawks avoided the 8th seed come playoff time.

Yowza. They match up so well with Beantown. If they don’t meet in the playoffs, I call a conspiracy.

Dunk of the year candidate! To bad the flash was brilliant but his fundamentals went sour at the free throw line afterwards.

  3. Marc Stein says:

kendrick perkins on the receiving end.

  4. webbie352 says:

i swear josh smith was making fun of kendrick after the dunk when he puffed out his chest and scrunched up his
face just like perkins does after a good play.

  5. Thats my boy Blue says:

    Is that not a travel?

  6. Heckler says:

good jam….but the sucka missed the free throw. right before that, he fouled perkins..allowed him to make the layup and perkins hit his free throw for the and 1.

hawks played good, not great, but they bricked too many free throws down the stretch.

and their defensive rotations were terrible. they left bibby guarding paul pierce too many times. thats a defensive play where you gotta get OVER the screen and not switch

free throws, woody and the refs killed us!

As much as I hate the hornets, I have to give it to them for beaating the spurs. It shows one thing though, what was wrong with the spurs last year has yet to be fixed. Would not be 100% confident with this squad in a conference finals. Is horry really the answer ?

  9. isotope says:

wow. Great help defense by the “best defensive player” there. Dude had him on lock. lol

Any play that results in the suddenly cocky ass Perkins gettin dunked on is OK by me. Who does he think he is all the sudden?

  12. JCARR says:

have mercy on the rim Smoove. It was funny watching the game and listening all the fans screaming OMG! like ten times in a row.

  13. jboycez says:

He never crowned Perk at all. He beat him off the dribble so I wouldn’t consider that a facial. Perk didn’t even leave his feet

  14. srb says:

    nice dunk there by Josh.

Perk got his revenge late in the 4th though. no fly zone.

    @ Austin–
I saw Compton Dominguez play last night… Your boy wasn’t at the game, I guess he’s injured but they did have this dude that was like a short Manute Bol, except he could actually play some D. There were a few occasions when the other squad, would try to dunk, only to have THE BLOCK PARTY show up. Anyways they had this dude #21 who’s committed to USC, he’s good, can post shoot the three and play point. Dude was beastin on the boards. Tonight I am going to go see Rancho Santa Margarita and the other game is

McClymonds the team beat Dominguez for the Cal title last year. What can you tell me about Rancho and

    McClymonds

    @ #5

No, it’s not a travel. It’s really, really, really not.

    @ #13

Since your are clearly blind, should you really be comenting on videos?

PS: Sorry for the bitterness in my post but people who let clear bias shape their arguments on everything kinda piss me off…

  17. E$ says:

    Don’t sweat it Perk, you’re a Champion

  18. Raj S says:

It definitely wasn’t a travel. That’s not even debatable.

He definitely dunked on Perk. That’s also not debatable.

And you can’t have someone on lock if you aren’t guarding him. Nobody has anybody on lock via help defense.

  19. Austin Burton says:

@Haterade — I don’t know much about McClymonds other than they’re another traditionally solid program whose coach is a VIP down there in the Bay Area. I actually caught some of that McClymonds/Dominguez game on TV last year, and I remember McClymonds had a kid, I think he was #5, who was an undersized forward but had HOPS. He was throwing down everything he got his hands on, playing like a power forward but he was like 6-5 or so.

  20. CJR says:

Doesn’t Josh Smith looks like the Game?

I watch the actual games. Keep watching the youtube clips.
