everytime should play 6 players and score the bucket.
the opposing team just gets 1 tech anyway. From what i know, 2 points is better than 1.

Austin, Tommy wasnt doing the game last night- he was back in boston in the studio. it was funny though the announcers said its a good thing tommy’s not here or he’d be going crazy. How is Garnett the only 1 who notice’s?? and how does this count?

Max says:
It was unbelievable how the NBA ruled that the basket should count because they didn’t catch the error right away. One of the dumbest things I’ve seen from the league.
But even though Heinsohn wasn’t on the broadcast team last night, Mike Gorman spent almost the whole game bitching about the refs to make up for Tommy’s absence, like that play was the whole reason a BRoy-less Blazer team was able to hang with the C’s and outrebound them 44-29. It got extremely annoying — so happy to see the Celtics take it on the chin from a team they should have punked by 20.

The Celtic announcers are probably crying in the corner just about now. ‘NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! BOSTON IS THE BEST TEAM EVER!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’

that's whats up says:
shit, that’s how it should be.
If a player gets a flagrant 2, he gets ejected and the team gets a two minute major where they play with only 4 players. Like Hockey. 4 on 5 for two minutes.
Why not?

JCARR says:
Watching this live was hilarious. After they get Greg Oden out of the game he had a smirk in his face… haha. Its unbeliavable how the refs missed this call. I am usually amazed by how they pay attention to every little detail like the shot clock or something.
This rule needs to be modified asap. I can see the spurs (stupid hack a shaq) using it in the near future.

Austin Burton says:
So the NBA’s argument is that they can’t have a do-over and wipe the points off the board …
HOWEVER, didn’t we just see the Hawks and Heat play a “do-over” last few minutes of a game last season? Didn’t that involve wiping points off the board, and it was stretched out over a few months, not a few minutes.

Celtic Hater says:
You know what’s the one thing that’s annoying about this blog is that when the celtic’s lose, you don’t give them any shit . . . like when they lost to my Lakers, then Golden State and now Portland. You know ball’s being played all over, not just the east coast, right? The bias is ridiculous! I used to be a big time KG fan, but now his antics are nutz . . . how many people did he try to elbow in that Portland game? Anyone notice how he tried to pop Outlaw in the last minute of the game after he got yaked on!?!?!? That elbow he got LA’s head with . . he’s been doing that all year to people! I don’t care about the trash-talking, yelling, clapping in PGs faces . . but the cheap shots are Bill Laimbeer-ish!

Austin’s got it right. It’s a weird situation re. counting the basket during that 6 on 5 mess, but I understand it if they hadn’t let that Hawks/Heat ish go down last year.
As it stands, it’s stupid.

That is fucking unbelievable.
It is so fun to see how an instance where the referees are undisputedly wrong and everyone can just rip those motherfuckers to pieces.
On the “fucking-annoying-useless-jobsworth scale” referees are like half a notch below the fucking police to me…

no one says:
[that's what's up] the reason why it shouldn’t be that way is because in hockey there is a goalie, which can prevent a long shot that is on it’s way into the goal. If players, especially centers, were allowed to goal-tend that would be a different situation.

Mark says:
At least they didn’t miss with a 6-on-5. That’d be pretty sad, actually.
I’m all against the Celts, but this was unfair and horribly handled by the league. Good job to dictator Stern.
