But damn. Straight shit from the street right there. Nasty. How many guys (except Craw, J.Will, Skip and BDiddy) could actually do that on an NBA floor?

P.C. Peace says:
more interesting question would be how many 2 guards would try n pull a stunt like dat on an NBA court?? seriously most of em street-ball type moves are executed on the regular by 99% if not 100% of point guards … some shit tho!!! that was tight!!!

Damn, if this kid ever gets it together, he’ll be a top-10 2-guard in the league easy. But he sure is fun as hell to watch right now.

real smart basketball play Jamal; that hardly ever ends up in a turnover. With plays this great it’s unfathomable how they lost that game…by 32 points. The other teams pg must have shot like 100% or somethi…oh wait.

I knew he was a gunner, but after seeing him live at the game last night it was just rediculous. He never even looks for anyone else. He brings it up the floor, tells everyone to back up and the goes to the hole or pulls and shoots.

@ #9 and #10
It never ceases to amaze me how many people don’t have a clue what a travel is. Just because it is a weird dribble or has an hesitation move, doesn’t make it a travel… Some guys do obssess about this crap…
December 23rd, 2008 at 10:57 am
Marc Stein says:
@ Quedas – I guess you play field hockey or something of that sort. that was a carry; travel; palming violation all rolled in one. The refs were out to lunch on that play – probably more so stunned that anyone would violate the rulebook that much.

Plays like this are why I get pissed off when anyone suggests that And1 or other streetball players could hang in the NBA. A.) Half the stuff they do is illegal, and B.) NBA players can do all that stuff better anyway.

miamiVIS3 says:
I’m with Quedas that play was legal. This is what the NBA rule book says in regards to carrying:A player who is dribbling may not put any part of his hand under the ball and
(1) carry it from one point to another or (2) bring it to a pause and then continue to dribble
again.
So take a good look at the video at no point is his hand under the ball so therefore it is not a carry plain and simple people who don’t understand the rules shouldn’t criticize the refs.
@Marc Stein
First of all while I’ll admit that whether the ball was carried on that play is subjective there is absolutly no chance that that play is a travel at no point does Crawford cease to maintain his dribble while moving with the ball. Also a little F.Y.I for you palming and carrying are the same thing. If you really are Marc Stein of ESPN I find it amazing that you wouldn’t comprehend such simple Basketball principles.

you bum. why dont you pack your bags and catch the AND1 bus. youre clearly not seasoned or conditioned enough to play some real basketball.
try doing that same move jamal crawford did in a game, and we’ll see if the refs let it slide… better yet, why dont you try doing that move at the most crucial point of a game. that play shouldve resulted in a turnover – going the magic way.

Warriors should compete in the And1 tournament. All they do is score and play no defense.

I agree it’s probably not a carry (it look like the defender touched the ball when Jamal pushed it past him anyway) there is a travel on the spin move though. When he replants his right foot going into the spin, that counts as a step.

…and then run onto the floor spinning a long white tee?
December 23rd, 2008 at 5:01 pm
KermitTheWashington says:
Yeah um…that was completely legal, people. Looked funny, but there’s no carry, no travel…just a freaq and a spin move. But BONEHEADED REGARDLESS.
