it looks like it wasn’t a putback dunk. don’t know how to describe it. like he just touched the rim. did he even touch the ball?

I was at this game last night. Kapono was killing it.
There was one play where he destroyed Rush off of the dribble with a spin move, then pump-faked him into jumping 5 feet past him. If he had hit that three pointer he took it would have been up for play of the year.

the rocket cat says:
One thing I’ve always wondered about the NBA rules is: what exactly is meant by “in the cylinder”?
What part of the ball has to be in the cylinder? All of it? Any part of it? The center of it?
If it’s “any part of it”, then that was undoubtedly an offensive goal-tend, but if it is “all of it” or “the center of it”, then it wasn’t

the rocket cat says:
So, I just found a definition that says for it to be offensive goaltending any part of the ball has to be in the cylinder AND the shot has to have a chance of going in. You could see from the way if bounced off the front of the rim that it didn’t have a chance of going in, so while at first I thought Jamario got away with one, I now think it was the right call (assuming that what I read was correct).
