Marbury Punked By “Real Madrid Investors”

Stephon MarburySteph

To add insult to injury, a couple of guys claiming to be Union Credit Suisse bankers recently hounded Stephon Marbury about their interest in signing him to play for Real Madrid in Italy for 12 million Euros. Steph returned their calls and e-mails, but then found out that they actually have nothing to do with the team.

These guys went so far as to call major media outlets with the hope that they’d report on the supposed offer.

A representative of the alleged investors have called The Post, The Associated Press and the The New York Times dozens of times over the past five days to promote their plan of Marbury playing for Real Madrid with a marketing deal worth 12 million Euros. They also have claimed Walsh spoke to Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon about the scenario in which the Knicks only would have to pay Marbury a small portion of the contract. It was all a farce. [Donnie] Walsh has said repeatedly he has had no contract with Real Madrid.

Steph isn’t stupid. He had to realize that no one is going to throw the equivalent of $16 million his way.

  2. JCARR says:

  3. Mamba says:

Agreed Fallinup – one day he will come in shootin,

I know he hasnt made many friends along the way, but steph cant a break at all lately,

This is getting almost sad in a way

  4. BxBaller says:

Thats just wrong. Probably some Steph haters trying to be funny.

  5. Kermit the Washington says:

Dime LOVES Steph man…that’s so cute!

“Steph isn’t stupid. He had to realize that no one is going to throw the equivalent of $16 million his way.”

Ummm…obviously NOT fellas, if he returned their calls and emails…? Unless he was just PRETENDING to play along, so that he could punk THEM! Yeah, that must be it!

C’mon, guys, you think Steph really has that much time on his hands, where he can just……oh wait.

  6. mules says:

    no…Steph is most definitely stupid.

  7. control says:

“Steph isn’t stupid.” – Yea he is.

It’s not some Steph haters TRYING to be funny, it’s some Steph haters being REALLY fucking funny.

This is a huge example of the american way. When someone is down, kick them a little bit for everyone else’s amusement. Steph is going to snap and kill a few people probably, but at least he’s probably going to do it in New York where the people are dirt bags anyways.

    @control

usually i would find that insulting but that take today was actually funny as phuck…

  9. Richard Wellner says:

My how the ‘mighty’ have fallen. Wasn’t this guy THE BEST PG in the league just 2 seasons ago??

As far as Marbury snapping and killing people, I doubt it. He has already proved that he lacks a whole lot in the cognitive department. I doubt that he is capable of feeling any type of shame or embarassment…or any other human emotions for that matter.

  10. control says:

    Richy Richard

Exhale son. This guy might have potentially had the most TALENT of any PG in the league, but he was in no shape or form the BEST PG in the league at any moment. The guy has been a loser everywhere he has been, he will be a loser everywhere he goes.

  11. Max says:

Real Madrid is in Spain…think Steph caught on to that one?

  12. Richard Wellner says:

    Dear Control,

I was referring to his own quote from two years ago, where he proclaimed himself the best point guard in the league.

Thank you, though, for taking the time to call me Richy Richard. It was cute, and warmed my heart.

    Regards,
    Dick Wellner

  13. control says:

    Dear Dick,

I am glad that I have warmed your day today. As I look out my office window and see the snow clouds covering this dismal state (MI) I can see a lone crack of sunlight reaching out and warming me. A single tear rolled down my cheek knowing that I have made such a meaningful connection with another soul.

I am glad you were referring to Steph’s words and not making your own reckless assessments. You should be wary though, for there is an old wise saying implying that he who listens to a fool is a bigger fool than the fool talking.

    Your heart warming friend,
    Control

    @ 12 & 13

Way to keep it civil fellas!

  16. Eduardo says:

    LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO @ 12 & 13

Hey Dime guys, what’s wrong with you?Real Madrid in Italy?Don’t you know Madrid is a city of Spain? That was weak..damnn

  17. ed says:

Steph isn’t stupid? really? he has spent the last 10-12 years proving hes retarded. all that talent with nothing to show for it, come on.

  18. bone0315 says:

Wow, he couldn’t even get punked by a good team like Tau Ceramica. It was a middle of the pack Spanish team. That’s tough.

  19. mules says:

I hate the Knick organization more and more every day for depriving the world of the unintentional comedy genius that is the Marbury post-game interview / press conference. I’m sick and tired of all these articulate, non-crazy players saying all the right things to reporters…BORING! I mean, KG’s “ANYTHING IS POSSSIBBBUUULLLLLL!!!” was funny in it’s own way but I need someone with a telling me they’re gonna average 11-12 dimes and 4 assists. Some team needs to sign him just to get him back in front of the cameras speaking to reporters…preferably a team where he can’t get #3 on his jersey (that head tattoo is retarded)
