Monta Ellis: “I Will Recover 100 Percent”
Monta Ellis (Photo. Jen Hale)Speaking really for the first time since his injury last summer, Monta Ellis says he’s coming back 100 percent:
“We’ve got to bring Warriors basketball back - that’s running, that’s what I bring to the table,” Ellis said Thursday after doing some light jump-shooting drills at the team’s practice facility.
“I will recover 100 percent and be the same player I was before I left, or even stronger,” he declared earlier.
From what we’ve seen from players who have dealt with severe leg/knee trauma in recent memory, do see any way that Monta Elliss comes back 100 percent “or even stronger?”

Supposedly the type of ankle injury he got should really affect lateral movement and explosiveness even after surgery and full recovery. I don’t expect Monta to be the same, especially since his whole offensive game is based on his quickness.

He will be back strong… i know he relies on quickness too much, but even if he lost 1/2 a step, he would still be considered one of the fastest players in the NBA. He also worked a lot on his jump shots…. so hopefully he will be the answer to the warriors woes.

HA. That would be freaking awesome since he is on my fantasy league, and sitting on the bench. Lol.
Seriously though, would he make that much difference? He is not a lock down defender, or a big guy that can shore up a porous defense. The warriors issues aren’t centered around their offense.

Of course. He is a freak athlete and he is young. It wasn’t a Jason Williams level injury…Hopefully he will have more to his game after having to slow down for a while.

Every time Dime posts a pic of Monta he’s wearing those same damn pants. I know the boy is country, and he probably doesn’t care. But for the money he’s making, he could dress a whole lot sharper. Or at least have those wack-ass adidas warm up pants in different colors so he doesn’t look like the poor kid at school rockin the same outfit for 5 straight days. Send CGF to do a shoot with him and make sure Christian brings the wardrobe.

I was thinking the same thing. No wonder we haven’t seen Monta on the DIME best dressed list. The warm-up pants and button-up short leeve shirt is becoming Monta’s trademark look. But I guess if you can ball and make cash you can pull it off.

Brown says:
I hope he comes back strong. We need him on the court. He’s not the guy that’s going to make us any better though because our defense is non-existent.
People say the Warriors are an exciting team to watch. Exciting to me is having a shot at winning a title, not scoring a whack of points in the regular season while getting beasted by every big man in the league and losing more than half your games.
