Monta Ellis update
Monta Ellis, Dime #44With Jamal Crawford, Corey Maggette and Stephen Jackson — three charter members of the All-Ratchet Team — already trying to cope with having only one basketball available in Golden State, where does that leave Monta Ellis (he of the franchise-centerpiece $66 million deal) when he comes back from injury?
Before Don Nelson tries to solve that equation, first he’s simply got to get Monta back on the court. And as he told the Contra Costa Times yesterday, that won’t be for a while:
“Monta, he’s the wild card,” Nelson said. “I really don’t know. I don’t know when he’s coming back. I don’t know how long he’s going to take. … But once he gets on the court, that doesn’t mean he’s going to be Monta of a year ago. It’s still probably going to be a month or more before he can get up to speed. So that’s another setback, really, for the team. Not necessarily a positive as he comes along. It’s another adjustment for our team.”
Even if Monta has a half-step or so to regain upon his return, he’s still arguably the best ballplayer on the Warriors and will have to get his looks.
Out of the four — Maggette, Crawford, Jackson and Ellis — who’s game will suffer the most when they’re all sharing roster space?

JCARR says:
Cap. Jackson. For some odd reason crawford is applauded for taking soooo many bad shots. During his first few games as a Warrior he couldnt shoot all (and is still struggling). Nellie what about Morrow??? That kid was on fire, but he chose not play him anymore.
As you said in this mornings SMACK, you cant trust what Don Nelson says. Period.

Brown says:
Aren’t Maggette’s, Crawford’s and Jackson’s games suffering enough by themselves? Ellis will take shots away from them, yes, but he’s a more efficient scorer, so hopefully the team will play better. I still don’t see them winning any higher percentage of games than they are right now. They’re desperately in need of a two-for-one trade to bring in better talent.

run all 4 of them with bidrens, jax at the 4, magette at the 3, Ellis at teh 2 (no one wanted him at hte point anyway), and crawford at the 1.
Imagine if this team had Amare, they could drop 200 in a game

Big Shot BOB says:
Yeah this team is reminding me of the early Knicks. They had all of these allstar guys that just didn’t fit well together. Basically a collection of good players that don’t make up a team. Now that they’ve stock piled talent they need to start making trades like Brown said.

Heckler says:
this team needs a makeover. here is what they should do:
wait 30 days then trade jamal crawford, stephen jackson and anthony randolph to the chicago bulls for kirk hinrich, ben gordon and tyrus thomas
that leaves the warrios more balanced looking like:
kirk hinrich, monta ellis, corey maggette, tyrus thomas and andris biedrins
not to mention the bulls will be more balanced too:
derrick rose, stephen jackson, luol deng, drew gooden and joakim noah

they need Ellis back badly…they need someone besides Biedrins that will shoot better than 45% and won’t cast up 3 after 3 after 3. ellis’s midrange game is sick and he goes to the rack
