NBA Trade Rumor: Raymond Felton To The Warriors
What’s that? I’ve been traded? An NBA source has told the Charlotte Observer that the Warriors and Bobcats have had discussions about Raymond Felton that would potentially bring back Brandan Wright or Anthony Randolph in return.
While Bobcats GM Rod Higgins “would neither confirm, nor deny” the rumor, there is incentive for both teams to make the move. First, since getting some significant burn, D.J. Augustin has been killing it of late. Second, after not signing him to a contract extension last summer, Felton could end up leaving for nothing in return as a restricted free agent at season’s end. From the Warriors standpoint, they still lack a true PG (that they like) on the roster after losing Baron Davis last summer and have a surplus of young bigs.
Regardless of whether this trade goes down, the Warriors must announce either a trade or a waiver today to make room for Monta Ellis who will be activated before Friday’s game in Atlanta.
While consensus in the office is that we wouldn’t make this trade for Randolph, it would be interesting to see the UNC swap go down and see the Bobcats bring back Wright after trading him on draft day for Jason Richardson a couple years ago.
Would you make this deal?

ray felt, j rich, g wallace, Emeka okafur. that was a pretty good core. J rich is gone, might as well ship out raymond and begin rebuilding? sounds weird for the bobcats they where never very good. but might as well.
Goldenstate is going to trade everyone over 6-8 away arent they? the point where there running Stephen Jackson at center. They should probably hold out for a more pure point guard. they should make a play for TJ ford or Tinsley instead.

this trade won’t help either team.
niether s making hte playoffs this year….so any trade they make would have to be for their future. if raymond felton can opt out (restricted) if you dont match, then he’s not a part of your future plans. so that would mean your renting him for the season. WHY?!!?…if GS ain’t making the playoffs anyway….whats the point?
from the bobcats standpoint….we all know/knew larry brown would want to trade ray after seeing what dj can do. i predicted this long ago. but if they gonna trade him…alls they want back is skinny ass brandon wright?..
whats next?….adam morrison to minny for rashard mccants?

@Haslem : I’m thinking the same thing. They draft enough bigs, but sure as hell never feels like they have anyone big aside from Andris.
Nelly, Cohan and Mully have to be smoking some of that NorCal Humboldt fineness to run the team the way they do.

I say do it for Anthony Randolph! Felton is underrated as a PG, but DJ-A has been better as of late

Isn’t Raymond Felton that guy who was suppose to be better than Chris Paul and Deron Williams in the draft? Didn’t know he was still in the league, good for him making some headlines.

as a warrior fan, i would not trade either wright or randolph, bigs with lots of upside, felton. didn’t they trade for crawford so that they’d have a big point to play with ellis (when he comes back)? never trade a big for a small. just dont do it.

Brown says:
Nelly refuses to play the young bigs, that’s why it seems like they only have Biedrins up front. They’re a very young team, it’s about time they started managing them like it. If you have ZERO shot at the playoffs, player development should be priority #1. Nelly will never understand that.
I’m sick of the coach. It’s about time he gets fired too.

This is ridiculous. I am a bobcats fan but what the hell was the point of trading wright for j rich 2 years ago and now getting him back while making your team worse. I really hate the bobs management.
