Phoenix Suns Sign Dee Brown
After the Suns held a workout yesterday in their search to add a point guard, they’ve settled on Dee Brown, signing the former Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards guard to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract. From a group that included veterans Damon Stoudamire and Eddie Gill, Brown is the only guy to have played in the League this year, having started 11 games for the Wizards.
“We like what he brings to the team in terms of quickness and (defensive) intensity. He’ll get after it on the floor,” Suns general manager Steve Kerr said. “Dee led an Illinois team that reached the national championship game (in 2005) and he has playoff experience in the NBA with Utah. He’s young so he has some room to improve, but he’s also at a point where he can deal with whatever we throw at him.”
What do you think of this signing for the Suns?

Meh. As much as it would have been nice for Goran Dragic to be the guy to back up Steve Nash, I’ve always rooted for Dee Brown. Good for him.
For the Suns, it’s a bad sign when one of the worst teams in the League cuts a guy, and you have to pick him up. Doesn’t that technically make him the worst player in the League? What was that article a few weeks ago?

Just because a guy gets cut doesn’t mean that he can’t play or he’s the worst guy in the league. That’s why you’ve seen guys go from playing in the D-League to starting

scooby, you’re right. That was kind of mean of me. I was just wondering about it after that article. I mean, obviously, even if you’re “the worst” (a very subjective title anyway), you’re still better than anyone posting on this site.
But still. You see my point, I hope.

I agree with Mr. K1X – all Dee needs is a chance to play many minutes – I’ve watched his career since 2005 Illini. He was fabulous there. Go Dee! Run and shoot like lightnin’!
