Tracy McGrady Out Three Weeks
T-MacOriginally, reports were that Dr. James Andrews had recommended that Tracy McGrady spend one week rehabbing his sore left knee. However, it’s worse than originally imagined.
T-Mac will have to sit a full three weeks to give his knee the time that it needed to recover from arthroscopic surgery last May.
However, there is one positive way to look at the situation. McGrady doesn’t need surgery.
“Now I’ve got some sort of peace of mind,” McGrady said. “I don’t have to worry about whether it’s going to take the whole season for me to get healthy and what I’ve got to do for me to get back to 100 percent. I don’t have to have to go under the knife again. I’m relieved.”
And here’s another positive spin for Houston: the Hornets, Mavericks, and Spurs have all undergone more serious early-season struggles than the Rockets have. ESPN’s Bill Simmons recently suggested that there’s something of a mutiny brewing in New Orleans. The Mavs looked terrible when their season started - they’ve only gotten going since the SEC started to investigate Mark Cuban. And the Spurs have been more injury-plagued than anybody.
Thus, the Rockets have a soft cushion with a potentially rough road ahead of them.

Im too mature to say it so ill rap on the article..
I still dont think he will be the same player.. 3 weeks wont give him his explsiveness and allow him to trust his body again..
You dont think that time those back spasms made him collapse and get gourneyed out the arena flash in and out of his head when hes heading to the rack??

This is good! Because:
It Would allow Battier and Artest alot of playing time to gel together.
T-Mac now has some piece of mind! Hopefully when he comes back he would be better explosively although 3 weeks isnt that much time out.
It clearly allows the Rockets to establish that It is really Yao Ming’s team.
Allows Luther Head, and Aaron Brooks more time to improve.

And Dime is right!
This wont put us far behind the rest of the West.
The only team right now that isnt going through problems are the Lakers.
Utah is still dealing with Injuries
Mavs just suck!
Hornets are trying to get back to last years form, and its not looking good right now.
Spurs are still trying to get into their grove with Manu and Parker back. They need time to gell with the now bench Hill and Mason Jr.
Nuggets are looking good, but they wont be that much ahead of us when Houston gets it all together.
The Suns look terrible. Some thing is about to happen I feel it!. Amare, Nash, and Shaq clearly are not going anywhere anytime soon.
Kings, Warriors, Clippers are not even worth mentioning
The Blazers are looking real good!

I’d say that the Jazz have been more injured than the spurs . . . the jazz have lost over 60 player games to injury already.
as for tmac, as long as he’s healthy enough to lose in the 1st round of the playoffs again then there’s no real reason to worry, houston fans.

I’d just like to point out that the Spurs are rounding into form WELL ahead of schedule. Timmy D and Pop got the new guys working together well without Manu and Parker, and Finley’s shot is falling on top of that. In fact the guys that are letting me down this season are Kurt Thomas and Bruce Bowen. Neither one of them is performing on either end of the court, and we need another serviceable big man to do battle with Lakers (not Oberto). And where is Udoka? Outside of those guys though, Mason and Hill are earning quality minutes and Tim has proven that he is still capable of winning a few games on his own. Let’s see what happens with all three back together.

It doesn’t matter how you see it, it’s still a setback for Houston as well as McGrady. They’ll still make the playoffs and they WILL get into the 2nd round, though.

Byron Scott, Chris Paul, the Hornets’ radio analysts, and the Hornets beat writers all said they don’t know what the hell Bill Simmons is talking about. He obviously don’t watch the Hornets enough. The Hornets are only 1 game away from where they were last season after 15 games. Simmons is concerned because the Hornets weren’t laughing and hugging? Give me a break.
Scott found the piece laughable.
“Chris and I have never had an issue; we get along extremely well, ” Scott said. “He’s very respectful of me as a coach, and I’m very respectful of him as a player, as I am with all my players. I don’t know where it came from. I don’t really care.
“Whatever he thought he might have seen, I know what’s going on within our organization. It’s no big deal.”
For his part, Paul, too, was dumbfounded over the baseless Internet report.
“It’s crazy, ” Paul said. “I figure you guys (beat writers) who are with us every day, if something was going on, you all would see it. Maybe he knows something I don’t know. If he knows something I don’t know, tell him to let me know. I would think me and coach might have one of the best relationships out of the entire NBA.
“I guess people got to have something to talk about. Maybe he should come to a game. Let’s talk. If I had a problem with coach, I’d say it. I guess he comes to one game, and he can figure it out.”

To try and put a positive spin on this, it will give Houston the chance give some minutes to guys like Head and more minutes to Brooks and get their confidence up. So when T-Mac eventually comes back, they will have a deeper and more developed bench (Hopefully).
