We Reminisce: Allen Iverson scores 30 in his NBA debut
The Sixers host the Bucks tonight (NBA League Pass, 7 p.m. EST), which is at least a passable excuse to re-run this clip: Nov. 1, 1996, Allen Iverson‘s pro debut in Philly against the Bucks. On 12-for-19 shooting from the field, A.I. dropped 30 points and six assists, but Vin Baker (25 pts) and Sherman Douglas (22 pts) led Milwaukee to a win. The game was also Ray Allen‘s first in the NBA, as he went 3-for-10 and scored 13 points.

I miss these days. He looks so young. Makes him now look even older then 33. Makes ya think forward to what it’s gonna be like looking back on Lebron, CP, and Dwight in 12 years..

Vin Baker — Fool could have a legit shot to the HOF but no. He started to hang out with Jim, Jose and Johnny.
Jim Beam, Jose Cuervo, and Johnny Walker for those that don’t know.
Jim, Jose, and Johnny — The only men I’ll trust.
Poor Vin probably in rehab right now.

Zumoff was dead on…
I still have the scouting reports, press clippings, and magazines that were saying Iverson wasn’t going to be in the league more than FOUR years, he’s a thug, and he can’t hold a candle to Marbury…I love looking back at stuff like that. He was an overachiever, but people continue to play him like he didn’t maximize his chances…He along with the under appreciated Pat Croce gave Philly a shot of energy that we never had in my life time. That game was probably one of the top 3 BBall moments I’ve witnessed in the sense that Iverson with his nay sayers and the pressure of proving taking a “little scorer” with the first pick would work out stood and delivered on a Gawd Awful team…He made fans come out for a loser. He usered in the “all out” era that Philly connected to and through full support behind.
With all his short comings his greatness is unquestionable…

Just watching this makes me sad that he is still not with us (sixers) an it just shows you while Kobe was riding tha BENCH in L.A. My man A.I.The Great was dropin buckets for a lottery team that will have the 2nd pick in the next years draft. I just don’t know why we could not put a good team around him an when they had a 1/2 decent team they traded every body the next year thats philly for you…I just hope he comes back to us next year cause I’m tired of him bouncing around tha L I can’t aford any more Jerseys!!lol. I’m out like Mo!!
