We’re Going Streaking: Boston vs. Portland Tonight
Tonight in Boston, two of the NBA’s hottest squads will match up when the Celtics host the Blazers. Boston is shooting for their 11th straight win – a feat they haven’t achieved since the 1985-86 season – while the Blazers have won six straight, moving to 3-0 on their five-game road swing Wednesday.
The obvious match ups to watch for are Kevin Garnett on LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy on Paul Pierce/Ray Allen (we figure he’ll switch off back and forth between the two depending on who’s in the game).
In recent history, Boston has won six straight against Portland and seven out of the last eight, but this year’s Blazers squad is stronger than years past. Also, Portland is 7-0 against the Eastern Conference this year, although tonight’s game is their biggest test to date. While one streak will be broken, the grudge match is already set for December 30 in Portland.
Playing his best ball of the season, Rajon Rondo will be tonight’s X-factor. Surprisingly, his triple-double the other night was the Celtics’ first since Ryan Gomes did it on November 8, 2006.
Who’s streak will be broken tonight?

First off thanks Aron for no George Karl references.
Second I got Portland tonight by 5 cause they simply want this more.
Third I can’t wait for this game. I feel this might be up for game of the year possibly. Dude’s already stating how they not going to be intimidated and you know Boston is trying to show every team up they play.
Most def. a reason not to go to the movies tonight.
Game night!

It’s Friday. We’re in Boston. Rondo is playing out of his skull right now. The Blazers may be on fire. But the Celtics just plain click.
It’ll be a good game. Celtics pull away in the 3rd.
Celtics win by 8

We have to remember that Pryzbilla brings out the nasty in KG. They do not, in any shape or form, like each other. Didn’t Pryz get drafted by the Wolves? Also he was quoted, “I’ve been listening to his shit for eight years now”…3 Techs–double tech on Joel and KG with KG getting kicked for vehemently cussing out a ref after the first tech. Of course, KG will never be T’d up for taunting.

KG and Joel become the first two players to be ejected prior to an opening tip. That leaves both squads short a body, but probably hurts Boston more than Portland

Halftime report.
Portland better make them adjustments. And find a way to stop Boston…..a tough task. Right now…Boston put a nasty run on Portland to end the half.

As I’m watching this game–hurting, because I’ve got Portland–I can’t help but feel like Brandon Roy is in the conversation for the game’s BEST handle. He is just SICK handling the rock. T. Parker, D. Rose and CP3 get all the handle love but Roy has broken Pierce off on numerous occasions in the 1st half. He’s pretty fast–not crazy fast–but the crossover, the left hand, the escape dribble…it’s an awesome set of skills.
Needs to pass the ball though. Trying to do it all himself.
And once that Oden guy gets that little hook shot together, it’s G.ame O.ver.

JBFC says:
The Blazers and Roy, predictably, have fallen flat. As I indicated several days ago (in response to yet another Dime “how great is Brandon Roy” post), the only player capable of knocking the Celtics off their throne is LeBron James. But, of course, you won’t read about that here at Dime — not as long the magazine’s institutional bias against LeBron remains in place.

Big Baby definitely lived up to his name, lookin like a little girl who got scolded. I seriously have never seen a professional athlete cry like that. That clip in #21 doesn’t even show it…there was real tears.

There’s no crying in basketball!
You are watching the precise moment where a knickname becomes forever written in stone. And I guess we can end that recent debate, Garnett will trashtalk a non-point guard/large player, even a black player. Just has to be from his own team!

since when is it alright to get down on all fours and bark at a rookie like a dog. If thats not taunting then i dont know what is.if the league doesnt stand up and fine Garnett then they have no balls.
