Why Lakers Fans Shouldn’t Be Worried
L.O.Lakers fans shouldn’t be worried that they didn’t cover the spread against the Knicks last night. In fact, I wouldn’t be particularly concerned about their two losses this month, or even the slimmer margin of victory (under 8 points per game) since Dec. 2nd.
That’s because Phil Jackson has no problem cracking the whip on his squad.
“Earlier this week, Lakers coach Phil Jackson sent his guys running after they failed — twice — to make 75 percent of their free throws in practice.”
There were “military-style drills, with the players running along the outside of the court… then [Coach Jackson] would blow his whistle and force the last player in the pack to run to the front of the line.”“Phil likes when we have tests,” says Lamar Odom. “Especially psychological. You can tell who’s confident, who’s thinking about it. He likes that. That’s what we’re striving for, perfection. We’re not perfect yet.”

I actually think the Pistons would trade Tayshaun for Lamar cuz his contract expires, and with AI and Odom coming off the books, Detroit would be in good shape. Plus Tayshaun would be nasty on the Lakers.

I don’t even think the Lakers could trade Lamar for Dumars left nut now. If they were going to move Lamar they would have done it before the season started…plus they are winning …

If we trade Odom and Vujacic for some brawn we will be alright.. But we all need to remember this roster in an experiment.. If things still FEEL the same way by Feb, and dont get me wrong things LOOK good but the FEEL is off, we will make some moves.. we got the depth to do so..
I hope Mitch has something up his sleeve for this year.. How could he not?? People will be salivating over Odoms expiring contract and you can sell Vujacic on potential.. if he got Pau Gasol for Kwame’s expiring contract then shit we should be able to land Jesus.. and no i dont mean Ray Allen
And aye yo Doc..
Save that shit for somewhere else.. You couldnt hang with Vujacic so dont hate..

Three Stacks says:
Lamar still has good trade value, he puts up numbers when given the minutes. But teams are looking at the 14 million coming off the books more than anything else.
It’s obvious the Lakers don’t really need Lamar, though. Kupchak better be working on something.

Most NBA teams are soft when compared to teams of the past. That Euro style of ball has infiltrated the NBA. There will never be another Oakley or Rodman or Barkley type players in the league again. Even looking at KG and em…to me dude is all talk. He can back it up on the court but when do you ever see KG bang out for real? Don’t get me started on that Perkins character. That dude irks me to no end.

How about this Laker fans . . . .Lamar Odom for Andres Nocioni !!! Lakers need passion and Nocioni provides this with blue collar plays and consistent outside shots . .This guy can defend power forwards too if asked by Phil. He would be perfect for the triangle offense and he does not need to ball to contribute substantially . . .He will be great . .. ANd would bolster the Lakers’ chances of winning it all in June 2009!! Go Lakers

They are by no means a scrappy team and thats what worries the hell out of me as a Lakers fan – Dec 25th cant come soon enough

we definitely have a EURO disadvantage and i dont know how this happened… i blame Bitch KupSHIT because he signed Sasha, Vlade and Pau. the 1st 2 can go, Pau is the only one i want on this team. LO can go too. love his game when he plays hard but how often does he do that? i wish we had signed Turiaf instead of Sasha

We should love him just the way he is. Tradin’ him to another team is betrayal. He gave much to this team and continues giving. He deserves a title.
