Andre Iguodala Dunks Over Yao

Last year, Andres Nocioni literally ended up on Oleskiy Pecherov‘s back in transition when “Stewie” turned away from getting dunked on, and it ended up looking even worse. That’s the same thing that Andre Iguodala did to Yao last night (off an ‘oop) – it almost would’ve been better if he jumped out of the way.

    yep, it was a dunk.

  2. Kudabeen says:

STEWIE!!! LMAO…When I see that guy I think the same thing from the episode where Stewie grows up…Hilarious

Dre I and Thad’s sly smiles of recognition after Dre I came off of hanging on the rim was reminiscent of New Jack City’s Nino and Gee Money to me for some reason…And I like it…

  3. SWAT says:

HMMM…maybe he shouldve done like bynum and undercut dude.

  4. doc (i like kobe AND bron) says:

Put some Soy Sauce on his ass!

  5. Kobeef says:

    @SWAT
Bynum didn’t undercut, he threw an atomic elbow to the ribs…and unlike Yao dunkers around the league are thinking twice about coming into Bynum’s house.

  6. rob stewart says:

And yesterday was Iggy’s birthday! That must have been his gift to himself (at Yao’s expense).

  7. karizmatic says:

wow everyone is just getting dunked on lately

  8. Duke says:

    Cept Bynum.

  9. Mamba says:

    Lmao @ Kobeef!

    An atomic elbow it was,

Yao just got punked, I love how they pan to him and he just has this goofy ass look on his face, Yao is weak, seriously,

  10. Bruce says:

My girl was impressed. She saw it on Sportscenter and immediately search for the clip. Thanks Dime. Link was sent. It is on tonight!

  11. jamesagee says:

yeah Bynum is real hard. He collapses Wallace’s lung. Real sportsman like. I give it to Yao for at least trying.

  12. LakeShow84 says:

    Poor Yao..

Can we stop making fun of him.. its sad.. we know he gets dunked on at least one good time every 2 weeks.. nothing new.. i bet its probabbly an inside joke amongst the players at this point that if you play the rockets you have to try to put one on Yao..

But he looks seriously frail.. i dont think he could stop/drop him even if he tried..

  13. weezy f says:

yao = a slightly better shawn bradley

  14. SWAT says:

all yall laker fan boys im gonna tell yall like this…yall pull tht stunt tht bynum pulled last nite and i bet cha’ yall asses will be whipped. atomic elbow my ass…his slow footed ass just couldnt get there in time to try and block the shot. and poor yao…i bet oden would kill for yao’s numbers. and yea my man gets dunked but at least dude is out there hustling and trying for the block. and only slightly better than shawn bradley, boy maybe u need to ck your nba stats

  15. ekstor says:

    @weezy f

What’s your definition of “slightly better”?

Shawn Bradley’s BEST year yielded 13.2ppg and 8.4rpg on 45% shooting. His career averages are 8.1ppg and 6.3rpg on 45.7% shooting.

Yao Ming’s WORST year so far yielded 13.5ppg and 8.2rpg on 49.8% shooting. His career avererge is 19.1ppg and 9.2rpg on 52.2% shooting.

lol @ duke, yeah Bynum isn’t getting dunked on at all.

  18. Stef says:

    Damn! Yao is finished…

  19. Bron42 aka Haters drink my bath water says:

@ekstor, we already established yao is more effective on offense then bradly. but on defense….they both suck. And like i said before, yao might already be top 3 most dunked on big men. and people wanna act like hes some imposing force on defense lol please…hes a 7’5 shooting big man…thats it

p.s: bynum undercut him…lets not treat it any different and see if he pulls that shit on a star like dwight or lebron or wade.

  20. Flip says:

All this misguided “getting dunked on” talk…. we should instead credit the guys “getting dunked on” for playing actual defense, not that Bynum BS!

  21. Bron42 aka Haters drink my bath water says:

so which was a worse dunk on a slow big man. Tmac riding shawn bradley like a rodeo bull a few years back or AI2 getting a piggy back ride from yao?

  22. Bron42 aka Haters drink my bath water says:

flip, bein 10 seconds too late on defense and gettin dunk’d on that bad ala yao and scola isn’t credit worthy…they didn’t play defense, they just happened to be around the rim at the time

  23. SWAT says:

ok bron i will give you tht YAO being 8ft tall does not block enough shots as he should but he does change dude’s direction and does change shots. tht will not fill up the stat sheet

  24. LakeShow84 says:

Man everyone still WHINING about Bynum?? Im starting to feel bad guyish because of all this..

he undercut him?? lol i also heard he choke slammed him too.. and all these are probably the people who called us soft.. but no matter how much everyone WHINES and cries and then WHINES some more, you cant call none of what happened soft.. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Sorry crybabies but it is a man sport.. The NBA has been served notice.. everyone will be a little weary now coming into our kitchen..

Call us soft now.. we can be dirty, shit call us the badboys since they did the same kind of shit to JORDAN.. And bigups to Lebron for taking the same shot from Bynum and not rupturing a spleen.. And ya’all need to shut ya’all asses up cuz i havent even heard a bobcats player say anything bout it..

    suckaass whiners..

  25. SWAT says:

like i said lakeshow…lol since you such a bad ass try tht on the court and let me know how tht turns out. dont let bynum buy you an ass whooping for trying to big up your team.

  26. dagwaller says:

Hahaha. doc, good one – he’s Chinese, so they should put…SOY SAUCE ON HIM!! It’s obvious that you’re smart, that was a good one.

I think that Artest (or whoever was guarding Iguodala) owes it to Yao to buy every single poster that he can find haha.

But yea, at least Yao stood in there. Bron, “we” haven’t established anything. Yao’s currently averaging 9.5 boards and 1.6 blocks. 1.6 blocks is good for 13th in the League, which is hardly “suck” – it’s above average. And when you throw out Chris Anderson and Ronny Turiaf, he’s the 11th best starter in the league at blocking shots. Rebounding, his numbers put him as the 11th best rebounder in the League.

That’s on a slow pace, grind-it-out team. That plays some of the best defense in the league. So maybe you should educate yourself, watch some games, before you start talkin crazy because “he got dunked on” or because you saw something on Sportscenter.

  27. calvin brodus says:

    @ lakeshow

call the lakers “badboys”? LOL, LOL. one dirty foul and lakers fans think they have a tough team. bynum was waiting at the bus after the game trying to apologize. that ain’t badboy behavior, my friend. and vujachic wears a girls headband. so wouldn’t he be a badgirl?

  28. Mark says:

I really feel for these guys, Bradley, Yao, whoever. Couple of dunked on plays and people count them out as effective players. ekstor’s statistic of Bradley’s career (at 8.1ppg and 6.3rpg on 45.7% shooting) are still better than some centers in the league.

Guess ignorant people take that and1 show too seriously.

  29. Bron42 aka Haters drink my bath water says:

Dag i said he sucks on defense, i didn’t say he was useless. And in a league where Dwade averages like 5 rebounds a game and a block at 6’4, your andre the giant looking 9 foot 11 center shouldn’t be average. 13th in the league when your the biggest guy on your team AND in the league AND a center? its not like hes a tall pf or sf..hes a 7’6 CENTER, You know, LAST LINE OF DEFENSE…whose whole purprose is sto stand by the rim and keep people from dunking and making layups. and you wanna point out hes 13th and 11th in the league? on a team where the second tallest person is who? tmac? dorsey? And ya on a slow pace grind it out team, so its not even like yao is just gettin beat down the court. its a slow team so hs literally right by the basket 90% of the time and plays some f the best TEAM DEFENSE thanks moreso to battier and artest now. IF he was on the suns, then you’d have a excuse cuz he wouldn’t be able to keep up, but the rockets slow down JUST so hes involved and hes 13th and 11? In a league with pretty much NO CENTERS outside of him, dwight, shaq and who? camby? and its not like he gets dunked on once in a while either. You coud probably catch a putback on yao at this rate. And considering i’m a rockets fan, i watch plenty of games since back in the “mo taylor will be niceeee” days. So go ahead and educate me with homer logic some more please.

@swat, almost any guy over 7’0 could use the “he alters shots” argument. Joel anthony alters shots. Eddy Curry alters shots. Hell any guy standin by the rim can use that. My point is, no ones really worried about going to the basket against yao as they would dwight, shaq, and of course bynum now lol simply cuz theres a 50/50 chance against yao. maybe more if u throw in the fact that hes 7’6 and tries to flop and take charges.

@lake show, since when did takin cheap shots make you any less soft? just makes you look like a punk. Melo didn’t look any tougher bitch slappin JR ya kno. Ain’t no one scared of the lakers or bynum suddenly lol their post is still soft and weak against any REAL big men in the league. Why didn’t he try that shit againt dwight when dwight was goin for a double double against you and the lakers ended up losin? and as long as you got gasol your team will be sponsered by soft cotton candy

  30. Bron42 aka Haters drink my bath water says:

p.s: mark, dont try and make bradley suddenly sound serviceable when hes most famous for bein the dumb guy in space jam (even got dunked on in that) shame

  31. jerod says:

    NOT YAO’s Fault.

The guy that was suppose to guard Iguodala lost track of his own guy to allow this to happen. Centers get “dunk on” all the time because they have to make a quick move to try to contest the shot once they see their teammate jacked up and lost their man. Unless the guy is standing there ready to challenge the dunker with a block, what the big deal?

  32. LakeShow84 says:

Your a sports fan Bron42.. Maybe u balled or still ball but u aint in the NBA..

U dont know what the whole league is thinking and you aint one of the foos out there takin it to cup so dont bother giving me ur opinion on our what our current state is.. The last couple of games Bynum aint been allowing no weak shit and trust me.. IM SURE OTHER TEAMS NOTICE.. And everyone been saying the same thing.. “why didnt he do that to Dwight??” he might if Dwight tried him like that.. He did it to Lebron.. so if he does it 2 Dwight what then?? “why doesnt he do it to Shaq”

And we got the one of the tallest front lines in the NBA.. gimme 5 front courts who are better.. Our defense is up there in the tops so quit talkin out your neck.. Yes Pau is soft.. Is Bynum soft?? Is KB soft?? Is Ariza and Fisher soft?? And you talk about the REAL BIG MEN in the league?? who Howard?? cuz thats all im hearin about.. in any case PF’s and Centers dont jump from the FT line when there are bodies in the paint.. Young Shaq might’ve but nah bruh..

yeeeaaaahhhhhh.. a cheap shot.. what a joke.. if Wallace gets back up half of you aint got shit to say except “Bynum’s weak”..

  33. LakeShow84 says:

And our record is too good for me to care about Dwight’s double double and us losing..

    Chump..

  34. dagwaller says:

Ha Bron, you make so little sense it’s funny! No, he plays on a slow paced, grind it out team, so his stats won’t be up high like Troy Murphy’s or Andris Beidrins’s or David Lee’s (all ahead of him) rebounds. He’s also ahead of people like Kevin Garnett, so don’t bring your stuff in here about how just because Yao is tall, he needs to be getting like 15 boards and 3 blocks a game, because there are PLENTY of guys just about as tall (oh wow, a couple inches) that can’t put together half the defensive game that Yao does. I’m not saying that he’s all defensive team. I’m responding to you saying that he sucks on defense, which he clearly doesn’t. Hell, he rebounds more than Sam Dalembert, and that’s all that Dalembert is good at!

You’re right, he’s the last guy next to the rim. The rim that his team protects better than just about any other team in the league over the last few years. You’re always talking about how Yao doesn’t intimidate anyone. So wait, is it T-Mac missing all of those games that intimidates people? Or is it 6’9″ Luis Scola stopping people from scoring? Please.

You mention Shaq. Funny, because Yao blocks more shots than he does. You want to know who’s ahead of Yao in blocks? Camby and Howard (monsters), Turiaf and Anderson (blocking specialists), Brook Lopez (wtf?), Andrew Bynum (ok), Tim Duncan (greatest PF of all time), Dalembert (again, a defensive specialist), Ty Thomas (sick hops), Perkins (ok), Okafor (ok) and Beidrins (ok). So in other words, the only well rounded players in front of Yao in blocks are Camby, Howard, Duncan, Bynum, and Okafor. Other than that, it’s all defensive specialists or blocking freaks.

There are so many players that are known as defensive aces behind Yao that it’s ridiculous that you would say that Yao is a bad defensive player. He blocks and rebounds at a good rate, and anchors one of the best defensive teams in the League. What more do you want? Oh, wait, that’s right. You want him to guard the other team’s center AND their wings at the same time. Peace.
