This ain’t hockey…fighting’s more than a 5 minute penalty. If Budinger retaliates, he gets kicked ejected from the game also and his team ends up suffering just as much. I have no doubt that Chase wanted to rip dudes head off after that shit, but I gotta give him props for relatively keeping his cool. And, to be clear, I’m not really saying Budinger should press charges. I was just trying to say that this shit was more than a flagrant foul and deserves more than a suspension…maybe the school should revoke his scholarship or something.

@ whoever thinks that he didn’t mean to do it: personally, I think that he meant to do it. But even if he didn’t, even if he “misjudged the step” (you’re lying to yourselves, btw), he’s still stepping over someone else’s body. What a dbag thing to do! That would be bush league in itself.

Beyond that, his reaction made it even more clear that he was trying to diss Budinger. Low move, and I’m glad that he got ejected. Hopefully there’ll be some disciplinary action.

That’s where you’re wrong. Budinger would have gotten ejected just as quickly as Houston dude had he hit, or probably even swung at him. Maybe in your “thug life” world the above statement’s true…but I hate to tell you the courts don’t see it your way either. I’ve seen plenty of people locked up (and truly made someone’s “bitch”) because they thought the self-defense laws allowed them to retaliate for a sign of disrespect.

No, there’s a point about pride. You might not think so but the idea of toughness and masculinity has a lot to do with basketball. Someone said it sarcastically but yeah, being tough is important, even if you lose the game. And no, it’s not at all about race (only Black Jesus was stupid enough to bring that into the conversation). Toughness is something that turns good players into great players, and lack of it is something that prevents them from doing so.

It’s also weird that his teammates didn’t do anything about it.

He gets up, walks after him before an official and three other guys get in his way. So “more than what he did” in this case WOULD be to go and try and fight him. Thus helping his team lose.

And yea, if you’re putting an elbow into me every time I post, I would knock your elbow off (of me, not off of your body haha), but if you’re the type of player that’s doing that in the first place, you’re going to keep doing it regardless of whether I get tough or not.

I know I’m not going to convince you of whether or not Dirk is tough, but put it to you this way. West has NEVER played more than 76 games in a season, while Dirk has played 76 games ONCE – in 01-02 – and then in his rookie year, he played in 47. That, to me, speaks volumes about who’s tougher. Dirk = plays through injury. West = gets hurt often, or else he doesn’t play through the pain/sickness when he’s not really hurt. Throw in the fact that Dirk consistently rebounds more (a “tough” statistic, wouldn’t you say?) and I don’t really think it’s much of an argument. But I guess a little tap on the face from West is enough for you to prove that he’s a badass hahahaha.
