Kobe Does the Big Balls Dance

Kobe went Sam Cassell on the Alamo Dome about 15 seconds too early last night. Maybe Roger Mason Jr. should have been the one doing this…

lol Van Gundy couldnt say big balls dance….he said doing the sam cassel jog back…..

  2. reskiLLa says:

tuned in just in time to see Manu’s buzzer beater at the end of the third. great 4th quarter, too bad the Lake Show fell victim to “The Mason”.

  3. izzy says:

some saying about counting chickens and hatching comes to mind…lol. Poor Kobe. I can only imagine the frustration he vented out at the rest of the team in that locker room afterwards….

  4. reskiLLa says:

i blame the brutal call at the end of the game…Ariza should have shot two for the win.

  5. rodnets (XBOX or Bust) says:

    @izzy

    the death stare!!!,

kobe is fun to watch as a player as it is in his complex character. Thats something that will always keep him away from Jordan. MJ made his teammates better, and looked like he really cared for them. Kobe tries his best but he fails.

  6. SparkyJ23 says:

You leave 12 secs on the clock to the supreme last shot merchants and you celebrate? full retard fo’ sure

  7. fallinup says:

He single-handedly willed his team to almost stealing the game. That 3 pointer was ice cold and Kobe did almost win it with the Big Balls Dance. Which was absolutely hilarious…and even better in slo mo. Haha

Damn good game though. Sucks that LA was undermanned because that’s the excuse LA fans will give for this one.

Spurs bench is looking solid. Props to Mason for stepping up, guarding Kobe pretty much the whole game. And hitting the dagger.

  8. fallinup says:

I always love it when a team gets Kobe pouting. That Manu last second shot at the buzzer ticked him off. haha

  9. Taj says:

How’s that for political correctedness… “the Sam Cassell jog back” LOL!!!

Roger Mason has morphed into Bruce Bowen from the corners though, he baited D Fish into that shot to win it!

  10. nola says:

rodnets. i’m tired of hearing about why kobe’s so far from michael because he “doesnt care about his teammates” and he doesnt make his teammates better because mj didnt like his teammates that much either. if you actually watched the seasons during mj’s career, he wasnt a great teammate and they’ll tell you, he was as distant as you assume kobe is. scottie pippen was always the one who dealt with the teammates. get your facts straight.

  11. rodnets (XBOX or Bust) says:

    @nola,

kobe makes his teammates better so did jordan. the difference is that kobe publicly bitches them off.

Im not saying MJ liked his teammates a lot, but inside the court it looked so, and those bulls teams looked like a team.

Sit in a table some names like jud buechler, bill wennington, and other bulls corpses along with vlad rad, the machine or other LA spare parts, and they will tell the difference in character.

    Peace

  12. Mamba says:

Kobe has come a very, very long way from where he was these last number of years,

I think the best sign of that I saw last night when he ran the same pick and pop three times to Josh Powell who knocked those jumpers down, he does the same with Pau as well,

When Kobe chooses to play a two man game like that it is just deadly, especially when his teammates step up, the game was what it was and Im over how upset I was last night, but kudos to the Lake Show for coming back the way they did after a tough win Tuesday night,

This is a much better Laker team this season than last years bunch, they just have to get healthy – the play at the end happens, Kobe should have shot it, or at least penetrated, Ariza was out of control and I dont think youd ever see that tripping get called unless it was Bron or Kobe

  13. Talented says:

Dance was wack lol. Kobe still cold hearted regardless though

  14. E$ says:

MVP? Act like you’ve been there before

  15. nola says:

rodnets. i can agree with you about kobe’s public temper tantrums. they were incredibly immature and disappointing seeing as how great of a player he really is. i can definitely say that is one of the things that will be detrimental to everyone’s opinion of him along with the colorado incident.

however, people don’t realize one other distinct difference between jordan and kobe. jordan went through the typical superstar entering the league on a lottery team career. and you can say the same about lebron. kobe was 18 when he came into the league and entered a team that was GREAT. he won 3 championships before he had the chance to mature into a great player. therefore i can understand his frustration when he found himself surrounded by scrubs like smush and the ever disappointing kwame. people just have to realize, he was spoiled (and lucky) in his early career and he’s learning from it. i think we can all tell.

  16. snook says:

wow so kobe made it to the alamodome and back to the AT&T center during the timeout? i guess he’s the real superman!!

  17. rudderband man says:

    One Player, One Shot…

    ROGER MASON JR.!!!

  18. analord says:

i thought it was hilarious. Nice to see kobe goof up a little.

Too bad that it was overshadowed by mason’s clutch play and the controversial call….

  19. rodnets (XBOX or Bust) says:

    @nola,

agree with your points. The problem is that Kobe is old enough now to deal with this issues, and he appearse telling that everything is under control, the leadership issues and stuff…till one of his teammates messes up, there are too many in that laker squad…and the Mr. Hyde part of Kobe arises…

  20. analord says:

also, anyone knows who started the big ball dance in the nba?

  21. Yao Fan says:

too bad his big balls dance turned into his “let me blame my teammate face” two plays later.

don’t pass it off if you got big balls you moron!!!

    hahahahah

  22. Jay says:

Kobe needs to find his own celebration gesture… all this jocking on other player’s is annoying.

Also, this is prime example of why he will never have the appeal of MJ either. He (and anyone else who does it) just looks like a plain fool when they do the dance, while MJ always carried himself with more dignity on the court.

  23. Jay says:

    @analord

What controversial call? You can’t take 2 steps with the same foot, that’s an EASY traveling call.

  24. rlf says:

manu TRIPPED trevor, watch the replay, the guy inbounding the ball took like 7 second to inbound it, COUNT.

trevor didn’t foul manu on that 3, it was an offensive foul, watch the replay. derek didn’t foul mason, mason quick the leg out, that was an offensive foul, read the book.

these are not off base ‘allegations’ just go back to the tape and watch what really happened.

and kobe was stupid, for doing that stupid dance. he should know better than that.

But FYI mason did that dance too, watch the video, but did it in a ‘nervous’ kind of guy. afterall, you don’t want to piss off kobe, they will see him again.

he should’ve had big ones to do it like kobe did, but he didn’t. he knows better.

but yeah i agree, kobe made a stupid mistake of doing that. he looked stupid.

  25. Kevin says:

Does anybody notice that Radmanovic trys to give Kobe a high five AND the jump shoulder pump and Kobe ignores him everytime! haha. Hilarious.

  26. Ross says:

I wonder if Kobe did this dance leaving the courthouse, after being acquitted for rape.

  27. rudderband man says:

    hahaha… wow…

  28. E$ says:

Someone tell Bynum to put his damn hand down, he did nothing…….

  29. king ralf says:

    Kobe´s just uber, nuff said

  30. BMW says:

Everybody saying that Kobe will never have MJ’s appeal because he doesn’t act like him needs to think straight for a minute. I know MJ’s the greatest and all but it’s not written anywhere that to be the greatest you have to go the MJ way. If it was like that do you know how predictable the game would be? Y’all think y’all would give a damn if Kobe, LeBron, D-Wade played the same game? I don’t think so…We need to stop comparing him to MJ and finally let him be great in his own way. If he has to yell on his teamates to get to a better point so let it be. Bottom line is Kobe is still the best player in the game right now not because he plays like a guy named Jordan but because of what he’ s doing for his own team. Don’t get me wrong LeBron,D-Wade,CP3, they all are knocking on the door but right Kobe is still in the room by himself.

  31. len-e says:

that big ball dance thing gets outta hand
(btw mason actually did it… look again)

  32. JHov says:

To all those people going back to the tape..also look at the fact that Kobe was orginally looking at some fans courtside while doing that dance..probably some guys that had been riding him all half! And hate him or love him you can’t deny he has ice water in his viens! Lakers lost..no doubt..no excuse but just wait til playoff time when Sasha,Farmer, and Walton are back(anybody remember the 4-1 series dismantling we gave them last yr?)

  33. Yao Fan says:

    @ JHov
all i remember is that the Celts won the chip.

doesn’t matter if he is iceman, he still looked like a moron for the premature ball dance

  34. Mark says:

It’s not a big balls dance, it’s the well-documented ‘I want to juggle YOUR balls’ gesture, courtesy Larry Craig.

And by ‘balls’, I absolutely, totally, undeniably mean tennis balls. For the children.
