Mike D’Antoni’s Quote of the Day

If you didn’t see David Lee’s dunk on Amare Stoudemire the other night, check it out above. But while the dunk itself isn’t really worthy of its own post, Nate Robinson’s reaction, and Mike D’Antoni’s quote, is.

“To be honest with you, that’s why you don’t have concealed weapons, because I’d have shot him at that point,” D’Antoni said wryly [about Robinson]. “I do like his feistiness, but he just needs to channel it in the right way. And he knows that.”

Nate-Rob was assessed a technical foul on the play.

Nate Robinson… haha STAT would pick him up and throw him upside down into a garbage disposal on the second deck of the arena

  2. srb says:

    He shoulda got ejected

  3. E$ says:

Nate is good, but he thinks he’s at the Rucker sometimes

  4. GEE...I thought I was dreaming. You almost drowned me,.. says:

D’Anthony is right. However, I don’t know if I would have used the gun context right there.

I might have to go VC (booooyy!) with someone talkin bout they would have shot me.

I think it all worked the way it should have. Nate got the tech, Amare got embarrased (still I applaud dude for keepin his cool), NY got the win and Porter’s job security gets weaker and weaker.

Nate better watch that little man’s disease, it’s going to get him in trouble.

  5. jace says:

nate robinson = wackest dunk contest winner.

if he ever admitted that, then id consider him alright.

  6. the Heckler says:

mike d’antoni sucks. so does nate.

amar’e is laughing all the way to the all star game.
them ny fools are headed to the lottery…..again

  7. G says:

not to mention Shaq’s litteral “catching” of nate later in the game

  8. the Heckler says:

knicks should trade steph marbury, rook galinari and mike d’antoni to italy for some cheese

  9. the Heckler says:

    PS

    to stat….

hahaha. last week you were bitching that no one fears you. that you gotta get back to putting fear into opposing players. hahahaha. sucker.
a lefty white boy slammed in yo grill!!

  10. Talented says:

Damn Mike?! You gonna splat ya former player just like that?!…sh*t Mike might be a gangsta 4real..especially with that last name

  11. Kobeef says:

Nate is bat shit crazy. No two ways about it. I don’t know how D’Antoni coaches him.

  12. calvin brodus says:

This is a tough one, because I don’t like STAT and I don’t like Nate Robison. So…

Nate Robinson thinks he’s way more badass than he actually is. As GEE stated above, he better watch little-man-tough-guy routine or he will get smacked the fuck down eventually. Or shot by the coach. There are plenty of players in the league that would have tossed his little ass for that.

STAT looked like a BITCH for letting little man get in his grill immediately following David Lee T-Bagging him. And STAT is worried that he isn’t intimidating anymore? That guys don’t fear him? When your looking to intimidate or have opponents fear you, don’t get punked by a cocky midget. Fuck the tech. Shit, get two techs. But stand your ground. This reinforces the question, “how in the hell is STAT an all star?”

  13. Chaos says:

Nate is a playground baller, he shows that night in and night out but i kinda like that he doesnt back down from opposingf players even tho they are three times his size. but d’antoni didnt have to go so far as using the gun referencee> that was unnecessary.

anyway i was surprised that shaq wasnt called for a tech when he caught nate-rob and threw him like the Undertaker throwing Rey mysterio(random WWE reference)

  14. fallinup (Black Dynamite = Best Movie Evar!) says:

Nate was dumb and is lucky he didn’t get ejected. Don’t get all touchy with D’Antoni…he jokes like that alot, and in his defense…I would have been that pissed off at Nate as well. He totally negated that hard foul on Lee because he couldn’t control his ignorant ass.

  15. calvin brodus says:

Here’s the clip of the Big Cacti catching that lil mofo midair. This is funny.

  16. control says:

One thing to keep in mind guys, D’Antoni didn’t specifically refer to a gun, he referred to a concealed weapon he could “shot” Nate with. He could have been talking about a crossbow or slingshot.

Nate is a little fucknut, if I were STAT I would have choke slammed that lil’ fucker.

  17. calvin brodus says:

“House keeping. You want me jerk you off?”

  18. LakeShow84 says:

I been saying he is a cocky little F’er all year..

And i LOAAATTHHHEEE that shit cuz he aint even that good..

  19. JA says:

I can’t even tell if the ball actually went in. I even tried to slow it down and everything.

  20. isotope says:

wait. who was Dantoni talking about? Stat? or Nate?

  21. Ed The Sports Fan says:

That’s why I love Nate Rob, he knew what it was, and Amare did too. Sometimes you gotta let that stuff ride, because Stoudemire will dunk on you instantaneously (looking at you Michael Olowokandi)

And he from the 206/253 Sea-Tac where its at!

  22. isotope says:

it is funny how dude just walked right through lil Nate like he wasnt even there. lol. Straight disrespectful.

  23. SayItAintSo says:

You all need to ease up on Nate ‘the great’ Rob…the man is as big around as my **** and he’s balling in the NBA. Only reason someone that tiny is balling in a league of that level is because he THINKS he is ten feet tall and he THINKS he is the hardest person on the court and he THINKS he is the best. If you don’t have that kind of confidence and swagger when you’re that size…you’re nothing. Seriously, Nate would have just been an exciting college player if he didn’t have that annoying chip on his shoulder.

  24. Promoman says:

Nate only got to the league because he happens to be athletic and has the typical street handle. Unless he has a quantum leap mentally and a quantum leap in his game, all he’ll do stay where he is: Coming off the bench.

  25. qwerty says:

lol Amare can pick him up with one hand and crush him.
