Steve Nash to the Raptors?

It was just earlier this afternoon that an unnamed member of the Dime crew was confidently asserting that Steve Nash was “definitely” going to be playing in New York when he hit the free agent market after the ’09 season. But there’s a chance that Nash could end up playing back in Canada before then. Read More »

The Greatest Buzzer Beater You’ve Never Seen

If you thought Cedric Jackson’s two-handed, 60-foot shot at the buzzer to hand Syracuse their only loss of the season was nice, check out Jake Lee‘s 82-footer. With a second remaining, Lee dropped in a prayer to give visiting Spain Park High School (Hoover, Alabama) the W over Clay-Chalkville.

What’s the greatest buzzer beater you’ve ever seen?

D-League Grants First Protest In League History

When the Utah Flash played the Colorado 14ers the day after Christmas, Utah’s Bill Walker got a raw deal.

With 25.2 seconds left in a 102-102 tie, Walker committed a foul which the official scorer ruled as his sixth, while in fact, it was really only Walker’s fifth. The misunderstanding stemmed from a foul in the second quarter that was registered to Walker, but was actually committed by his teammate J.R. Giddens. The Flash went on to lose the game 104-102.

Today, the D-League upheld Utah’s protest which was filed after the loss, the first allowed in its eight-year history, and the final 25.2 seconds will be replayed on April 10, with the teams’ regularly scheduled game to follow. Read More »

(Almost) Daily Fantasy

Danny Granger is making it hard not to give him the fantasy MVP every day right now. He had another absurd night with 30 points, 6 threes, 7 assists, 2 blocks and 1 board. He shot 100% from the line and 52.6% from the field. We’re going to make it a three way tie though between Granger, Travis Outlaw, and Mehmet Okur. Outlaw, who is playing great right now, had 33 points, 3 threes, 7 boards, 3 blocks, and shot 84.6 percent from the line and 64.3% from the field. Okur was nuts last night, especially in the first half. He finished with 43 points, 3 threes, 3 dimes, 9 boards and shot 68.4 percent from the field, and 93.3 points from the line.

Elton Brand – After seeing Brand’s shoulder essentially hanging from his hip, few expected him to be back this soon. Brand practiced yesterday though and looks to be back by next week’s lineup deadline. Big win for Brand owners. Read More »

AI vs. Rip – Who Should Sit?

The Detroit News is reporting that there’s a great chance Allen Iverson or Rip Hamilton will be coming off the bench tonight when the Pistons take on the Bobcats.

From Michael Curry in the article:

“I wouldn’t expect them to like coming off the bench,” Curry said. “Both have been starters their whole career. But the reality is, we’ve got good guys on this team, and they are all willing to do whatever it takes for the team to be successful. Whatever decisions we make is because we feel it’s the best thing for us to be able to get the most of everybody on the team, regardless if a guy likes it or not. Read More »
