Eddy Curry‘s former driver hit him with a lawsuit on Monday with a laundry list of allegations, one crazier than the next.
* According to the suit, Curry solicited gay sex from his driver “in the nude,” allegedly telling him, “Look at me, Dave, look” and “Come and touch it, Dave.”

LeBron James could have attributed his first GQ cover, which was released this week, to a number of things – the gold medal run in Beijing, the Cavs’ monster first half to the NBA season, his gaudy numbers, the apocalyptic 2010 season for free agents. But instead, he’s crediting David Stern‘s controversial decision in 2005 to install the NBA dress code with at least part of the reason that he’s in that position.
“I have to thank David Stern,” James said. “Ever since he put in the rule about having to get dressed for the game, I had to get dressed.”

At the beginning of Bulls/Blazers we got a look at the home team’s intro video — a CGI “Running of the Bulls” through downtown Chicago that ends with them smashing through a Blazers-logo’d bus in front of the Jordan statue — before the player intros, backed by a remixed version of the Alan Parsons Project joint that MJ made famous. Along with fireworks and a high-profile opponent on the schedule, everyone in the building seemed pretty pumped; until the camera cut to Tyrus Thomas looking like he was waiting in line at the post office. He really couldn’t have been more disinterested … Before tip, the Bulls announcers said the game plan was to shut down Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge. Chicago did that — holding B-Roy to 11 points and LA to eight — but they didn’t have an answer for Travis Outlaw (33 pts) or Greg Oden (17 pts, 13 rebs). Outlaw brought out his awkward leaners and weird running hook/layups, while Oden just beasted Drew Gooden and Joakim Noah … Read More »
A little while back, Carmelo Anthony founded his own movie production house, Krossover Productions. The first film that Krossover will be involved with will be “TYSON.” We received this a little while ago about the movie:
TYSON is acclaimed indie director James Toback’s intimate and moving
no-holds-barred portrait of a humbled Mike Tyson told in the words of the
former heavyweight champion. In TYSON, Mike Tyson examines his own life in
and out of the ring with a candor, eloquence and vulnerability that is by
turns poignant, funny and never less than brutally honest. Read More »
Part of the newly refurbished ESPN.com, which now has a super-slick interface that can easily drag you into 20 minutes of watching video after video before you even gain total consciousness, is a new element in the box score. Right next to total points, there’s a little “+/-” category that basically measures how the game went when that specific player was on the floor.
Last night, Ray Allen dropped 36 in a win over the Raptors – and it makes sense that he was “+12″ for the night. In that game, Anthony Parker was pretty bad – his 2-12 FG hurt Toronto to the tune of “-12.”
After dropping our first D-League Hot Hand List last week featuring Courtney Sims, Will Conroy and Antonio Meeking, the rest of the League took notice before the start of the 2009 D-League Showcase and came out firing.
Selected by a panel of NBA and D-League coaches and front office staff that were in attendance, the All-Showcase Teams were as follows: Read More »
After Eddy Curry made his brief season debut — a two-minute cameo against the Mavs on Thursday — I wondered what the Knicks were going to do with him. Although the team is hurting for any kind of low-post scoring presence and David Lee desperately needs another rebounder (hell, they’ve been starting Jared Jeffries at center), Curry is simply too big and out of shape to mix with Mike D’Antoni‘s system. Remember a while back I told you guys I was going to be on a reality show. Well, this past weekend I was out in Los Angeles for the Television Critics Association’s preview of the show. Me, along with three other cast members were flown out there to speak on a panel about Harlem Heights. Read More »
That’s right, I said it. Greg Oden needs to step his game up, and I’m sure Blazer fans agree with me. If Portland has any delusions of grandeur, then they need to hire a retired NBA big man (like the Magic have done with Patrick Ewing) and teach this 7-foot, 285-pound center a thing or two.
Kareem, Hakeem, David, Moses or even Bill Walton, find someone to work with this kid. Heck, I’d even take Shawn Bradley at this point. While many believe that Joel Przybilla should be starting, the fact is that Oden needs to learn how not to foul.
