Prof. TX says:
Even if they traded him, who would they want in return? Alot of the big names looking to move lately (O’Neal, Bosh, Amare) are all PF’s, and lately Scola has been the Rockets best player so there’s no reason to replace him. Maybe you could switch him for Marion, but it might not be much of an upgrade for either team.
Yao isn’t going anywhere, so C is locked up. Scola is playing great and Landry has been a good backup, so PF is set. Artest and Battier provide one of the best SF pairs in the league. So if you’re trading McGrady, you’re looking for an all-star guard or a very high draft pick from what you hope would be a good class.

http://www.nj.com/nets/index.ssf/2009/02/new_jersey_nets_vince_carter_g.html
The Spurs will be watching Carter closely for another reason: Sensing an opportunity to grab a fifth title with the Lakers experiencing some injury problems, the Spurs recently called the Nets to inquire about Carter’s availability.
A deal would be extremely difficult to make, however, because among those players San Antonio is making available, the Nets have interest in only Roger Mason — now arguably the game’s top 3-point shooter, and one of its best closers — and backup point guard George Hill.
Wow. Rumours have been heating up. Tonight’s game against the Spurs could possibly be the most important night in VC’s career. a 35-10-8 night could convince popovich to give up Roger Mason, Finley and George Hill for VC and Stro.
I wish i could text Gregg and say “Trade High!! Trade Roger while he’s high!!!” Every VC Fan on earth should be imagining TP/GINO/VC/DUNCAN.. and the Chips a hoy that will come with it.
Audition of the century tonight.

Mamba says:
As much as I have always loved TMac, dude is done, he can still be a very good player in this league, but not like he once was,
The Rockets got blown out by a REALLY bad Bucks team last night – I dont see how anyone can honestly think that they will make noise in the west and compete in a 7 game series,
Look at the bright side, at least Yao didnt get dunked on again last night – dude is very soft
February 10th, 2009 at 10:05 am
PALakerFan says:
Tmac needs to sit until he’s 100% healthy. He’s destroying his value by playing hurt. They can’t get by the Lakers or Spurs this year anyway. Kobe’s a year older and is still killing it. No reason Tmac can’t get healthy and be a force again.
I can’t believe the Spurs would want VC. WHAT FOR??? He provides nothing they need. Shooting? Ginobli and Mason are better. Interior scoring? Duncan. Dribble penetration? Parker and Ginobli. Defense? Pick any Spur but Finley. Vince needs the ball in his hands to be successful, but so do Parker, Ginobli and Duncan. This would be a dumb move by SA, so I hope they make it.

Scott says:
I’m surprised no one has mentioned the Rockets trading T-Mac for a good PG. The Rockets could easily run Battier/Artest at the SF/SG, and they’d still have Wafer off the bench, add in a high quality PG, and they’d be set.

Big Sia…There’s only one ball to go around. VC would be the 4th best player on that team and he wouldn’t like it at all. The Spurs are a great team as it is. There’s no I in team but there is in Vince.

scott if you havent noticed shane is not exactly a top player these days. not even a top defender and thats his sole job

VC has shown he’s willing to be unselfish.
I think at this stage in his career playing with Tim Duncan would make him do anything to win. Also with a coach like popovich and a culture of winning

Tmac? Who is he and why are you guys talking about this gimp? There are so many up-and-coming athletes to be focused on that any dialogue about these has-been’s is a true waste. Some of yall have to get off of your nostalgia trips and focus on today’s players. Oh, and a memo to Chris Bosh….don’t leave TDOT, the ones who did are not faring too well. For the ones that get drafted by TDOT….if you want anything to materialize in your career, you gotta be a RAP 4 LIFE. I’m out like players who don’t wanna play in Toronto

@big sia, this would be a huggeee trade and VC wouldnt mind sharing the ball with TD no doubt.
plus that miscelanious human is Matt Bonner!
I think the Spurs should give up George Hill, Finley and even Kurt Thomas I dont see why the Nets even want Roger Mason he wont do them any favours right now there not contendors. I personally hope Mason stays on the Spurs. Awesome to see that guy thrive in a situation that suits him so well…
VC to the Spurs= ringz

people r gettin on McGrady cause he knows he has a team with the ability to compete for atleast the con.finals but Arenas gets a past for wantin to sit out the year so they got a better shot at gettin Blake Griffin if McGrady dont play he is a B*tch when he does its a sad picture when we know he is hurt for sure just watch him he still better than Head Barry Wafer and whoever else they can come up with at 75percent

The Spurs don’t have the contracts to send back to NJ to get VC, who makes $15 mill. They’d have to pretty much gut the team to make the salaries match, so this isn’t even a trade possibility. Do your homework people.
