LeBron Is a Photographer

There’s no better pre-game routine than this one. Not sure when it started, but LeBron and Co. stage a photo shoot after a series of baseball dugout-esque handshakes. This one’s from a couple nights ago, but we’re still in search of last night’s when one of Cleveland’s bigs (Darnell Jackson?) picks up Delonte West and holds him in his arms as LBJ snaps another shot.

  4. springz says:

Does Lebron have a unique handshake/ritual with every member of his team!?

Now we know they don’t actually do drills in practice they just work in the handshakes.

  5. Clay says:

That’s team chemistry at its finest…

  6. bsteezy3 says:

No doubt about it…this shit is funny as hell.

  7. Bron42 aka Had Springs Before Slamball says:

its corny…first he robs the chalk ritual from KG and then he robs the camera thing from coach carter…

  8. srb says:

    how’s that ego going lebron?

  9. Kudabeen says:

    Damn Chuck…LOL

That is great…Love seeing the guys actually like each other and are having fun…Think they call that a team…

I guess when the Cavs play the Bucks Skiles frowns on this activity to…

I’d take Bron’s chalk thing over KG’s…KG is pretty rude…Having those old dudes coughing and covering their possessions…LeBron has posters of his ritual…

  10. Celts Fan says:

It was funnier when Chad Johnson and TJ Houshmanzedah did it first, 2 years ago. Real original Bron…

  11. POPPI GEE says:

Glad to see Bron having funs with the no names.

He does need to get his own stuff though.

That roller coaster ride after got me sick!

  12. Clay says:

Damn…listen to the Lebron haters. Why does everything he do have to be original?

  13. doc says:

U hear em Clay.Calm down fellas he’s having fun with his team. Why do he gotta make some shit up.That is a TRUE TEAM right there and they all act like they got a true love and respect for the next man.And they pic thing at the beginning of games is the shit.Delonte last night was silly as hell hopping up in Jackson arms holding the peace sign up.And he aint rob the chalk thing from kG.I seen MJ do that shit when KG was still in school somewhere trying to get that first shot of ass.

    I like it, he’s entertaining

  17. bsteezy3 says:

Yeah, some of y’all are taking it a little too seriously… I’m not a huge LeBron fan (remember he told his mom to “sit yo ass down”?), but you have to admit, dude is clowning this year, and he’s having fun. When that guy picked up Delonte West last night, it was hillarious…

Oh yeah I forgot you always have to be hard. That’s what I love about Lebron he looks like he’s having fun out there. His teammates look like they’re having fun. It’s better than when Kobe who looks like he hates everybody. That was the charm of Jordan, he may have been an asshole behind the scenes but he was all smiles and shoulder shrugs on the court.

  20. Austin Burton says:

When I saw the photo routine before the Cavs/Magic game, I thought the same thing; these guys genuinely LIKE each other, which automatically makes a team better, especially in the postseason. (After LeBron’s MSG 50-9-10 and Kobe’s 61, somebody e-mailed me this: “It’s amazing how LeBron’s teammates basically mob him after his game, but when Kobe scored 61, his teammates looked like they’d all rather be shot in the face than to congratulate him.”)

Anyway, who cares if he “robbed” the chalk thing from KG. Think about it: LeBron was a kid when KG was a pro. What do kids do? Emulate their favorite players? He probably decided long ago that when he got to the NBA, he’d “rob” the chalk thing.

  21. POPPI GEE says:

Austin I think it’s just a difference in personality. We all know Kobe is one of, if not the most intense guy on the court. At the same time All-Star games, commercials and even various encounters with Shaq have shown that Kobe can have fun.

It two stars that both win. You switch them on teams and sure L.A. would probably start taking pictures before the game and Clev. would prolly relax and not show that fellowship.

Still they both win and I have seen LeBron hop on his teammates A## just like Kobe has and again I have seen Kobe have fun with teammates and the game.

I ain’t so much knocking LeBron but at the same time don’t knock Kobe.

I like clowning around as much as the next man, but I can respect those that are serious too. Long as you getting results.

I think Kobe’s team was just fine in the post season last year too. Is it to say if Kobe clowned around with them, then they would have beat Boston? Or is it to say LeBron’s team would have went to the finals has he been more serious? It’s really a to each their own matter.

As far as the chalk. Some folks just like to see originality. I love watching Ocho Cinco just because he does do creative stuff I haven’t seen often. That riverdance is still the ish.

With MJ and KG both having done the chalk, I think some are just saying hey LeBron have fun and keep doing stuff like that clowning around but thrown some original LeBron stuff in there too. Not hate, just admiring what dude does and wanting even more of something others don’t do.

  22. vince says:

its bullshit. sure its entertainment. just like the mascots and cheerleaders are entertainment.

for kids. im watchign a bball game, not a bunch of clowns doing some mime crap.

  23. Dagomar says:

Actually no, vince, you’re watching a bunch of professionals have some fun before the game begins. This is their time; you ain’t paying for shit.

  24. bookkwormmaster says:

I like it. I think its fun for the fans and fun for the players as well. It adds to the entertainment value and to the personality of the players as well. Keep it up.

Also though I think alot more creativity would be appreciated but I have no problem with imitation. I believe u can imitate but add a lil twists and make it your own as well, a perfect example being the chalk thing.

Jordan: poured it into his hands and then wiped his hands together
KG: poured it into his hands then clapped it into the faces of the people behind the desk
LeBron: poured it into his hands and then tossed it into the air

They all have their different approach (however subtle they may be) with the chalk. However, you can make the case that LeBron really made it popular because he not only gets the CROWD to do it with him but he also marketed it with his Nike commerical

  25. solomon (el latino machismo) says:

pure chemistry… just the kind of stuff all GM’s would kill for… guys who got jive with each other in the modern day, all $$$$$ NBA is priceless…

  26. vince says:

dagomar i didnt say im paying.

and if these are professionals, its professional kids. it’s dumb shit. i feel offended seeing this.

  28. Lee says:

Have people forgotten Kobe’s MVP confrence with Walton ??? He jokes with his teammates sometimes.

I think MJ use to do the chalk thing but in the commentators faces.

Good to see Side Show Bob getting the hell outta there !!!
