After playing a big part in the Rockets’ win over New Orleans last night with stellar 12-point, 6-board game, Carl Landry returned home to Houston, and then went out on a drive. At 4:20 AM, he got into what would normally be considered a minor fender bender, but when he got out to inspect the damage, the other car drove off and fired two shots at him.

Styles make Tournament classics, and one of the standout stylistic contrasts in this year’s first round has 7-seed Clemson facing 10-seed Michigan in the South region.
Clemson is a running team; the third-highest scoring unit (79.0 ppg) in the ACC behind North Carolina and Wake Forest, and the most profilic three-point shooting squad in the conference, hitting an ACC-high 8.1 threes per game at a conference-best 37.9% clip. Read More »

With everybody in the Dime office in tournament/bracket mode, yesterday we tipped off our hypothetical 2-on-2 NBA Jam-style pro tourney. The rules: Game to 21 by ones and twos, make-it-take-it, higher seed gets the ball first, current injuries are wiped off the table.
Going by Dime’s most recent NBA Hit List rankings, here’s how the second half of the first-round matchups look: Read More »

The Hornets had a big opportunity in front of them last night, and simply put, they blew it. A win over the Rockets at home, coupled with a Nuggets loss, would have put N.O. in 3rd place in the West. And not that Chris Paul and crew could do anything about the Denver game, but facing a Houston squad that (1) didn’t have flu-ridden Yao Ming Read More »
