March Madness Players 2 Watch: DeMar DeRozan

DeMar DeRozan

Going into this year, DeMar DeRozan was supposed to be the next O.J. Mayo — not because he and the possible NBA Rookie of the Year play anything alike, but rather because DeRozan was supposed to follow a similar path as his USC predecessor: one-and-done, a quick Big Dance appearance, and onto the Green Room. Stephen Jackson and Don Nelson Get Tossed For No Reason

Stephen Jackson looks honestly dumbfounded when he gets thrown out in the middle of a Phoenix fast break. And Don Nelson thinks he’s making a funny quip at referee Tony Brothers right before he gets the boot too. Seems like two bogus ejections to me…

Previewing the NCAA Tournament, and Dwight Howard goes 20/20

Blake Griffin (Oklahoma)

Eleven games on the NBA schedule yesterday, but the League still had to take a backseat to March Madness. Even the Kobe/LeBron/Wade “Can you top this?” battle took a day off; all three played, but no one turned in an instant classic (more on that later) … Just like every year, we’re going to be all over the Big Dance, and yesterday we rolled out a ton of preview content surrounding the Selection Show: Read More »

No. 1 Overall? Louisville Got Screwed

Rick Pitino

After Austin beat me to it this afternoon declaring that Louisville will win it all, I’m actually glad he did. Because after watching the brackets unfold, it seems Louisville winning is the last thing the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee wants to see happen. Read More »

March Madness: Top 5 Closers

Ty Lawson (UNC)

If you’re picking a team to win multiple games in the Big Dance, they’d better have a good closer – someone who can get a bucket when the tide of momentum is swinging against his team, someone who can make free throws in a tight game, and someone who can handle serious pressure.

Here are the top five closers in the field of 65… Read More »

March Madness: Biggest Snubs

St. Mary's

You know what? This stinks! Every year this happens to me. I wait patiently for the brackets to be released, thinking I’m going to get my way, and every year without fail, the Selection Committee crushes my heart. How can this nonsense keep happening?

Let me start with this: The Big Ten got the same number of teams in the tournament as the Big East. Is that a joke? I’ve been looking at projections for weeks now and I didn’t want to believe any of the rumors. Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio State can go kick rocks. Read More »

March Madness: The Players Who Will Bust Your Bracket

Kevin Tiggs

Every year, one of my favorite reasons to watch the NCAA Tournament is to see Cinderellas not only make it to the ball, but to dance for a couple songs. This year, there are 12 guys that have a chance to do just that and bust your bracket. If you don’t already know about ’em, you will after the first two days of the tourney… Read More »

March Madness: Upsets to Watch

Darren Collison (UCLA)

My favorite part of March Madness has to be the upsets. I still wake up with cold sweats thinking about TJ Sorrentine and the Vermont Catamounts knocking off my beloved Syracuse Orange a few years back. Upsets always happen in the NCAA Tournament but this year expect a plethora of lower seeds getting past their first round games. Here’s a look at my picks for this year’s upsets. Read More »
