Blazers’ Late-Game Killers
Which was more impressive last night: Brandon Roy scoring 13 of his 24 points in the final period to bring Portland back from a double-digit deficit, or Travis Outlaw hitting that prayer of a 17-foot bank shot?

Which was better? The desperation game-tying-into-overtime-stoopid-fresh shot by Rasual Butler.

of ALL the times they say refs put their whistle away at the end of games to let the players decide, the do the Grizzlies dirty!
they make a call for Outlaw running AWAY FROM THE BASKET and low and behold he makes the shot.
The worst part of the play is that Gay fouled out and couldn’t be in on the last play.
I know the better teams get the calls sometimes, but the Blazers aren’t the Lakers, Celtics, or Cavs. Let the Grizzlies have one!

The Griz were up 18. Should have put Portland away and then you wouldnt be crying about fouls. Besides, Outlaw missed the free throw, and you still had a chance to win, and Conley lost the ball. I hate the refs as much as the next guy, but lets not blame this one on the whistles.Put the game away.

Reno-
point taken, but since when do road teams get the benefit of the call especially at the end of games?
No excuse for blowing the lead, but a young team like the Grizzlies haven’t learned how to close games obviously.
My main argument on this one was the call on the and 1. I didn’t see a foul by Gay with the arm or the body, no two hands in the back. Roy was body to body with Gay on the previous play, why not call a foul then?

roy was body to body on gay (wow…um… is no homo appropriate here?) on the previous play because gay was posting him up. great shot by gay, by the way, i didn’t know he had that in him. the grizzlies should be way better next year… but we say that every year don’t we?
