I’m with you on this; it was pretty funny indeed.

karizmatic says:
I saw this and I felt Chris Webber’s argument. His argument was simply that Howard is not gettting enough touches for Orlando to be a dominant team. Until Howard starts getting more touches in the post, Orlando isn’t an inside out team, they are a jump shooting team…if a jump shooting team isn’t hitting its shots it can be upset. According to the way that Orlando plays they really aren’t better than Philly or Atlanta for that matter, even though their talent on paper says otherwise. As a big man Webber just happens to be really passionate about that point. Although he was a choker during his own career his point is correct here and it was proven by Orlando’s subsequent collapse.

K Dizzle says:
CWebb on point. Prophetic shyt. Play before Iggy makes his jumper had Rashard shootin a 18 footer that clanked then afterwards, Hedo throws up a long range fling when they had time to get a waaaaaaaaaay better shot as Dwight steams.
These fools in Orlando need to realize where they bread is buttered….

BERN BROGDEN says:
It aint freakin prophetic. Anyone with a bball iq feels cwebb. kenny was just playin’ devil advocate.
but its not that easy.
dwight doesn’t have the best post up moves. and his footwork is sloppy at times.
and he doesn’t have very good passers on his squad except rafer, maybe hedo and thier injured point. So that leaves only 2 decent passers. passing inside can be a daunting task at times.
dalembert, for the most part, manned up dwight. and did so pretty well. got in foul trouble but what are ya gonna do? dwight had beast stats but his squad lost. that’s how you want it. they locked in on hedo and rashard, and helped on dwight when they could. if anyone was gonna beat them, it was gonna be lee or pietrus or jj or somebody-else…which it almost was…but since it wasn’t, so the game plan worked!
with that said, it doesn’t make sense that your big man only touches the rock TWICE AND ONLY TWICE in the fourth quarter.

nic says:
howard needs a killer instinct. He has stats now, but if he had a killer instict his production would go up even more. Someone on his team needs to slap him before a game and get him pissed off. A man that size with a chip on his shoulder, pissed off is not something I’d mess with. Defensively I’d like to see him knock someone on their ass.
April 20th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Bron42 aka Had Springs Before Slamball says:
that has nothing to do with killer instinct or anything to do with dwights post moves…like the clip showed, dwight was standin by himself and still didn’t get the ball…That a easy dunk, no post move or killer needed. If anything his teammates don’t have killer instinct. Dwight did his part. He needs to get more physical maybe but he did his part. The master of panic coach needs to step up and tell his guys “no matteer what were going to dwight the next 6 times down the court” and force feed him no matter if he makes it or not. Cuz then guys will collapse and his shooters will get open. None of those shooters can create their own shot on the regular.
April 20th, 2009 at 12:45 pm
blah says:
they did the right thing. dwight isn’t reliable in the post, he has NO MOVES whatsoever and as strong as he is, it’s all upper body. you need a strong base to move peple on the block. He has chicken legs, so until he either gets some meat on his legs (like shaq) or learns how to play despite his chicken legs (like david robinson) his teams won’t be a threat.
April 20th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
nic says:
the killer instinct would be on the bench during the time out when he looks at his team and tells them “give me the f-ing ball, i don’t care how, but give me the damn ball.” kobe, lebron, dwayde, do that. they know what needs to be done and they will get it done.
April 20th, 2009 at 1:06 pm
Damon says:
wow, didn’t see that last night. c-webb is right, but im really surprised he got that emotional.
and whoever says dwight has no post moves:
WHO CARES!!!!
they weren’t even looking for him, he was wide open. and even if he isn’t open, he was playing dalembert. should get the ball a lot more. a simple power move and jump hook would be enough.

C-Webb is more fun to watch when GP is his sidekick.

April 20th, 2009 at 1:16 pm
Brown says:
I think Charles said it best when he said “you don’t live by the three, die by the three; you just die by the three.” Orlando has a jump-shooting mentality, and teams that play that way never go very far because you need to do a hell of a lot more on the offensive end than just take jump shots if you want to be taken seriously.

itsakademiks says:
ppl seem to be missing the point forget if he has great post moves son dropped 31 on 13 shots u have to get son the ball….
April 20th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
E$ says:
You can’t compare Yao/Dwight – Rockets can’t win if Yao doesn’t touch the ball, Magic can win without Howard & have many times because of his foul trouble

Inside the NBA = Ernie, Kenny & Charles. Webber adds nothing……
April 20th, 2009 at 1:44 pm
Dennis Castro says:
Why isn’t more being made of Dwight not getting up in the huddle and pulling a Keyshawn and say “Gimme the damn ball and get out my way!”.
If Dwight wants to be a superstar, he needs to step up and be more vocal.
I saw another game this year where Dwight only touched the ball like once in the 4th Q.
Not only is that poor coaching, that’s poor leadership from a franchise player.
April 20th, 2009 at 1:46 pm
Kudabeen says:
13 shots…Nuff said
Dwight should have had 13 shots in the first half…
I was watching and C-Webb was felt, but that was the most uncomfortable I’ve seen the set…I wouldn’t have been shocked if they came back from break and C-Webb wasn’t there…LOL
Not to say he was wrong or the TNT’s crew aren’t a loose bunch, but they just looked really uncomfortable with C-Webb’s bark…Too Funny
I’ve been saying for the last couple of years Dwight gets systematically ignored down low…He has shown that he is a willing passer and he finishes around the basket much better, but he still has these games of 7, 9, 13 shots…It is ridiculous… Van Gundy can’t use the excuse that he doesn’t work the boards or defend the paint like he should now…It’s just bad coaching…
Dwight was getting Every Sixer Big in foul trouble with ease…4th quarter we would have been watching Donyell Marshall guard Howard the way it was going, but Orlando was playing keep away…
The hell with post moves when you can go through defenders…Shaq and Yao weren’t on the floor…It was a hobbled Dalembert, Aged Theo, and Speights…Theo has always been a good defender, but he gives up silly fouls…
They need to look at the Rockets game plan…Force feed your big for high % shots and then work that…They went away from it and gave up a 18-14 point lead…

djKianoosh says:
I said this in the other post, but I’ll say it again.
It will be a travesty if Dwight Howard doesn’t drop 40-20-5 on the Sixers on average for the series. We have ‘nathan but penetration’ to stop that mofo! I think Webber was saying the same thing as Kenny. Webber was saying it doesn’t matter if it’s coaching or just bad passers, they HAVE to get the ball inside. Kenny was just arguing a minor point that he doesn’t think it’s the coaching, but it’s the players. whatever kenny. JUST GET THE BALL DOWN LOW!
i’m a sixers fan and the magic even frustrate me with the way they play. i’d be fuming if i was in orlando. get the young man the ball and let him dunk on fools!

Big Island says:
They are both right sorta. Kenny was right in saying they just couldn’t pass, and those passes should go to Dwight. He isn’t really a post up guy as much as he is a yam on your family guy when he gets the ball down low. I would be cool in Philly if Dwight was just backing down and throwing that ugly hook. When Skip gets to the hole and hands it off to Howard who then beans everyone in the head with a dunk, not as cool.
That step back J was nice, but Iguoadala’s mean mug for the next 3 hours afterwards was dumb. You aren’t that filthy dude.
April 20th, 2009 at 4:50 pm
jamesinva says:
oh my god. i bet kenny was talking SO MUCH SHIT during the second half when orlando got a big lead. “THATS A DOMINATE TEAM CWEBB YOU NEED TO STFU I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING BOUT”
IGGY……..SHOT……….GAME

i think kenny was actually scared for his live at one point there when he turns and looks the other way to avoid c-webb’s eyes!

Dwight Howard’s lower body is puny. Until he addresses this issue he will be a second-tier big-man in the NBA. He got pushed around like a rag doll by David Lee, of all people.

thomasmmm says:
the wing guys of ORL are hesitant to pass the ball because of the hack-a-dwight. he missed 2 earlier free throws. PHI has enough players who can foul and foul Howard.

“If you got a guy who needs the ball to score and you got three other guys who are not getting him the ball, get rid of the three other guys.”
Damn, Chris Webber just spoke the truth.
This is for all you perimeter ball-hogs playing with a legit post threat: get the ball inside first on offense before trying anything else.
