actually, sir, the term “cracker” gets its origins from the fact that slaves owners used to “crack” their whips at black slaves. I surely don’t want to be associated with such behavior – slavery was one of the darkest moments in the history of America, including our enslavement of Japanese in internment camps during WWII. So, yeah, I’m offended by that. You should be, too. I can’t call a black person the n-word, but he can call me the c-word?

and “honky?” what the fuck is that shit? I’m not a clown with a nose that makes a honking sound, why would I want to be called that at all? I have name!

I’m the first white person to be offended by being called DEROGATORY names? can i see some facts to back that claim up?

It’s funny, I’m white, and I don’t really get offended by the words cracker or honky, but if a person who wasn’t white called me that, would I be justified in calling that person a derogatory term? I think I would not be justified, but it’s still an interesting debate.

On a side note, I actually like that we sometimes (key word here sometimes) get into these debates here at Dime.
