The WNBA season has to move. In high school hoops you find the same phenomena as college and the WNBA, a lack of interest. However when there is a great high school game the fans typically file in during the girls game to catch a seat for the boys game. The NBA is suffering from a game that is too long due to commercial break, for monetary reasons and a game that is not as fast paced as it used to be. You take the commercial breaks extend them through the course of both a WNBA and NBA game which could lead to a night of hoops for a family that would be the same length that it currently is and fans, once a season visitors, whoever will get two games for one. In short the WNBA season must be moved to the fall with the NBA. This will allow the WNBA the opportunity to cross market in materials: Candace Parker and Kobe on the cover of the game day brochure is one hell of a way to attract both male and female fans. Of course two 48 minute games with commercial interruptions will create about a 3.5 hour night but that is really what the game already is right? Anyway this is my suggestion and a lot of agents should really push this to prevent a lot of lady hoopers from heading off overseas to make a living. I propose we all begin creating a Hoops Bailout which includes reducing NBA teams and aligning the WNBA and NBA game times.
