Should Dwight Howard be Suspended? You be the Judge.

The NBA is reviewing Dwight Howard’s elbow on Samuel Dalembert and the rumor mill is stirring with a possible game 6 suspension. Does Dwight deserve the suspension? You be the judge.

  1. Yup Yup says:

Not so much the golden boy now. peace howard. see you in game 7.

  2. Mac says:

First! Supension, yes! Not for the elbow, though, but for having no discernible low-post game….

  3. fReSh says:

    suspension

  4. raysir says:

Yes, Howard should be suspended, the intent was there and had he connected it would have been lights out for Dalembert. It would also pretty much guarantee a game 7 – more revenue for the NBA and a do-or-die game 7 for the fans.

  5. G says:

Take a seat homie. Howard going at Dalembert is like KG harassing PGs

  6. mellamoernest says:

He will be sitting. There would be no question if it landed squarely.

  7. Mark says:

Im a big UFC fan and with elbow strikes like that Howard has a career there after he retires!

  8. qwerty says:

Wow. I expect more from Dwight. Tsk tsk

  9. mavs all the way says:

as much as i like dwight, he should be suspended

  10. Metropolitan's finest says:

Charles Barkley said it best last night…

He should definitely be suspended, because if he isn’t other players will think its fine to swing an elbow and not necessarily use their fists.

  11. rangerjohn says:

while a weak attempt at an elbow strike, yeah he deserves a game. hell if it was regular season he would get ATLEAST one if not 2

  12. rick773 says:

I think its obvious. If the NBA goes by the letter of the law he should definetly become a spectator for game 6

  13. E$ says:

Wow….Dwight not looking like a good rep for the “L” on that one

  14. SJ says:

I say suspend them both, but fine Howard more. They were going at it the whole game.

  15. JA says:

He’ll get a game for this. If not, you know Stern is pulling strings.

  16. ianodelaleza says:

not only should he be suspended for the elbow

he should be fined for his danm arm sleeve…its got adidas on it and a gay decoration!! how in gods name did they let him play with that batty thing on???

i hope the nba doesnt let didas players get away with that batty stuff cuz adidas sponsors the L and does the apparel!

  17. Notorious says:

I guess can Stern can call off the refs awarding the game to Philly. Now he can just suspend Howard for a game and Philly can get there win that way. Either way we were getting a game 7. No Mr Nice Guy huh Dwight?

  18. QQ says:

Damn. My boy sure took a whack at Sam’s head right there. I just leave tha suspension decision to the L.

But I FEEEEELLLLL GGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOODDDDD. Magic is playing like the playoffs are now actually starting. Been waiting for this.

  19. Dagomar says:

    Sadly, yes.

But is it wrong for me to admit that I like this nasty version of Howard? In order to dominate games he’s got to bring the attitude, Wilt-style.

Still, looks like this series will be a 7-gamer for sure on account of this suspension.

  20. blah says:

when he came into the league he was talking about trying to get a cross on the NBA logo. now he got baby mamas and throwin bows. Welcome to the league Dwight.

  21. POPPI GEE says:

Dagomar I wish Yao would bring that attitude and dominate with points and boards like that. He needs to up his nasty level big time and elbow a cat …not now in the playoffs but next year I need to see Yao scuffle and show he ain’t scurred. Sadly it’s not his demeanor or personality so I doubt I will ever see that or Yao score 50.

Dwight made a young mistake and didn’t think and yea he should have to sit out.

  22. Kudabeen says:

    Dogmar:

I Love Wilt and I love that you gave him a shout, but Wilt wasn’t known for his attitude…That was the knock on him that he never really physically punished his opponents like he could have…

He was just better than everybody and that’s why I think no one will every measure up, but Dwight looses focus if he doesn’t get to do what he wants…

Dwight is dealing with that same thing and that has him on the court throwing bows at defenders and even his teammates…He don’t want to be know as Mickey Mouses’ favorite center in the Playoffs…

I’m out like Courtney Lee from a Dwight elbow…

    “We drop bows on em”

  23. OC says:

Hell ya he needs to be suspended. Any other player swingin’ elbows would’ve, why not Dwight.

Take a timeout in the corner young man.

  24. karizmatic says:

Yes Howard needs to be suspended a game for that.

  25. BERN BROGDEN says:

    ABOUT COTTON-PICKIN’ TIME!

MAKE ‘EM THINK TWICE ABOUT GETTIN’ PHYSICAL WIT U!

    See you in GAME 7

  26. Sho-Nuff says:

    @ Blah

100% nailed on the head. Notice how the NBA and his people swept that baby mama stuf under the rug, she used to be an ex-Heat dancer then Magic dancer to boot. A good Christian boy, not so much.

Being physical is one thing, intentionally elbowing to the head is another. If he doesn’t get one game you know the NBA is a farce.

  27. knock knock says:

To those people who are saying “yeah dwight get nasty” are you serious? i’d understand if it was like a mutumbo elbow to the face by accident. But he wasn’t making any kind of play that would call for swinging an elbow. Dirty play but i wouldn’t call him a dirty player yet.

  28. Soopa says:

Dogmar: Im with you. Im fed up with his perfect image, big smile and clowing around. I know thats his personality and his a good human, but please while that in the locker room dude. If he can get that killer instinct, get that KG/MJ intensity/stare thing going? We’re talking 30/30 games in the future.

Taking a suspension is in my book alrigt. Go Dwight, get your mean steak going. Make them fear you.

  29. Soopa says:

*leave that in the locker room.

And yeah knock knock, i am serious.

  30. that's whats up says:

No Kryptonite inside Dalembert’s head, like it was thought

if game 6 was in Orlando Stern wouldn’t have the balls to do it.
So yeah, he gets one game and is out in Philly

  31. BERN BROGDEN says:

Hey, to be clear that was a DIRTY BOW to the back of Sammy’s head.

But if you know SAMMY’S game, then you know what DIRTY is!

I’m from Philly..when Comcast doesn’t block … and we’re able to see the 6ers, SAMMY’S good for a BOW or two.

His version of gettin’ space or boxin’ out usually involves him extending a forearm or elbow. I’m quite sure DWIGHT had enough of it.

…just like when BIBBY got caught on the screen the other night and reacted…or when RAY got caught up under ANDY and reacted like BALLBUSTA…the DIRTY ISH happens usually in response to ‘perceived’ DIRTINESS.

  32. Dukesman2000 says:

    @ Blah and Sho-Nuff

Christians don’t f*ck? It takes no-p*ssy-getting-fools like you two to make such a dumb @SS statement. Just look at the Catholic Church it’s that same “no p*ssy” rule that’s causing these Priest to touch little boys.

Dwight Howard is 22 or 23 years old with a boat load of money; let the man enjoy some of it. As long as he is being a good father to the kid, that’s all that should matter.

Now back to the topic at hand. Dwight Howard should be suspended because that elbow was deliberate. But I also think Rajo Rondo should be fined for hitting Miller in the head. The league has to be consistent. The NBA derailed the Suns’ Championship run when they suspended Amare Stoudamire for leaving the bench, so they are almost compel to take actions against these infractions.

  33. Ian says:

Lol howard needs that kg killer instinct intensity??? Hell no just because you yell alot (kg) or like to give that stupid stare(kobe) doesnt mean you are more intense than others. Now he deserves a suspension. Guys you are making fun of dalembert but in a street fight give me the dude from haiti that prob keeps a machete in his locker than this kid.

  34. rena the great says:

Rondo should have had a flagrant last night for the fishhook that knocked out Miller’s tooth. He is no princess either. Schmuck

  35. dapro says:

No question he should be suspended. He should have been ejected from the game first.

I like Dwight but that elbow could have done some serious damage

It’s one thing to be aggressive, but swinging elbows to the dome is dirty

  36. Blazermark says:

The NBA is FIXED! Like WWE. Shaq pounded a ball in Pryz’s head as he lay on his back after getting hacked by shaq. Totally shameful bit of unsportsman-like conduct, and nothing was ever said about it. Dwight is Stern’s new poster boy. Nothing’s going to happen to him!

  37. Blazermark says:

Sh*t, that should have been an ejection. An elbow directly at someone’s head? What an animal. No room for that school-yard crap in the NBA.

  38. rUfuccinKiddin says:

that was not a hard hit….this is a professional contact sport….he barely grazed him….and the way dalamebert and philly has mugged him the whole series i’m glad to see he is fighting back….everybody hates superman….leave him alone…he has been beatin’ the whole series….so he pushed back….big fuccin deal

  39. j-boog says:

Suspension…….if it was Rasheed he’d of already been suspended no question so D How is gone!

  40. Sho-Nuff says:

    Dukesman2000,

Like most who post here you are too quick to fly off the handle. I’m not saying anything about him getting some. My point was that he had a kid out of wedlock (no big deal in 2009) but he came out of HS all preaching and what not and it’s funny that the NBA and his people put a hush hush on this. To me that’s being a phony. He also spoke of converting all these heads in the NBA to church going types, etc. At 22 or 23 shouldnt’ he know what a condom is.

BTW, relax, it’s only a mesasge board, all that commenting on who gets what pu$$y really isnt necessary to prove your point or respond to a post. krod.

  41. weng santos says:

Yes on the suspension. He needs to unlearn this crap.

Dwight’s such a good kid, but that was one dirty play.

With his strength, he could’ve seriously hurt the guy.

Really disappointing. I expect better from Dwight.

  42. doc says:

Get him outta there for 2 games!

  43. Dukesman2000 says:

The NBA put a “hush hush” to it because its not an issue that is detrimental to the League or anyone else for that matter. I get ticked off when fans, stans, or haters get too involved with what athletes do off the court or field. This thread was about should Dwight Howard be suspended for the elbow, but you went into the man’s personal life. Come on.

    @ Sho-Nuff

Now you see how it feels when I attacked your personal life? It stung didn’t it? You felt I went over board because I attacked you, even though I don’t know you from a can of paint. Just imagine how Dwight Howard would have felt if he had read your post. This was about basketball, but you went into a full scale diatribe about the man’s personal life and family.

DWIGHT throws ELBOWS and has KIDS!

    What a DEVIL!

  47. nowwhatyo says:

Why didn’t anyone from the sixers give dwight some pay back? Are the sixers even down for eachother? If that was my teamate getting bowed on, i’d be looking for an opportunity to get some revenge (but obviously hide it much better than dwight did).

  48. Fobuless says:

Dwight just got suspended according to espn.

  49. dagwaller says:

Yes. Some kind of punishment for Dalembert, too.
