Phil Jackson isn’t a yell-and-scream type of coach. So in lieu of a remixed Al Pacino “Inches” speech or some outright Bob Knight-ish threats, whatever books Phil passed out to his Lakers leading up to last night’s Game 5 got the job done. This is kind of funny – some of the top recruits at the list of final schools still standing in the John Wall Sweepstakes took the time to pitch the Word of God Academy (N.C.) superstar point guard on HighSchoolHoop.com to sell him on why he should sign with their school.

Danny Granger was awarded the NBA’s Most Improved Player today, edging out Devin Harris by just five first-place votes. Granger (25.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg) and Harris (21.3 ppg, 6.9 apg) were by far the top two finishers, followed by Kevin Durant, Paul Millsap, Nene and Rajon Rondo. Read More »

Walking off the court after Dirk‘s 44-point series saving performance, Kenyon Martin had some choice words to share with Mark Cuban, and the Dallas faithful.
Though nobody was around to read K-Mart’s lips when he was yelling at Cuban, Yahoo! Sports’ Johnny Ludden picked up this quote as he walked past some Mavs fans still hanging out at an arena bar post game.
