Rashard Lewis Isn’t Happy About the Celtics Celebration
I thought Doc Rivers post-game touchdown dance was going to elicit a reaction from the Magic. But as long as he didn’t split his pants with his Rod Tidwell ground-slap, Doc didn’t cause any problems. After Big Baby hit the game-winning jumper (and pushed a little kid into his seat), some other Celtics supposedly crossed the line, inciting notorious tough guy Rashard Lewis to issue a warning to Boston through the media.
It most definitely adds fuel to the fire,” Lewis said. “We don’t like that type of stuff. You have to be professional about the game of basketball. We’re a professional team and we expect them to be the same way.
“Those guys were jumping up and down, waving their hands at us, saying bye, but it’s not over yet; it’s just 2-2,” Lewis added. “We could have done the same thing when we won on their court, but we’re more professional than that. They still have to win ballgames. The series ain’t over yet.”
Instead of complaining about the Celtics celebration, Rashard Lewis should be explaining why he hasn’t lit Brian Scalabrine up for 100 points thus far. Then he wouldn’t have to worry about the C’s celebrating at all.

Class? Celebrating a huge win in the playoffs has nothing to do with class. When has KG or Perk thrown an elbow at the throat of an oppsoing player while fighting for a rebound? When have you seen a Celtic intentionally drill an oppsing player while he attempts to set a screen? Stop with the class bs, its about winning, and if trash talking gets into the heads of the opposing team and gives you even the slightest mental advantage, then why not do it?

What the “F” is this guy talking about. Basketball on the playground level for like 8 years olds starts off with trash talking. From a young age as soon as you walk on the court your taught that. So being a professional basketball player just means your suppose to be the best at trash talking. Walk up to any gym in America and the first 3 things you hear before you even get inside is shoes screeching (sp?) on the floor, the ball bouncing, and guys yelling ish at eachother it’s a part of the game.

I like Rashard and all, but it seems like players on his team just have sensitive feelings when they have jumpers drained in their face. Watch someone on Orlando spit on Rondo when he gives them a “Dream Shake” and buries a mini-hook shot in the lane.

Trash talking is a part of the playoffs. Keeping your emotions in check is a part of winning. And since KG aint there, Rashard has no excuse for not putting up 25ppg on Scal. For a $100M+ contract, he needs to do more than complain about the Celtics post game celebrations.

I like the Raptors myself, but the whining and calling out teams for celebrating has got to stop. Jordan’s celebration after the shot on Ehlo was one of my favorite moments. If someone hits a gamewinner, i expect the celebration. Especially since it is someone who may not have another opportunity to take the last shot. whew… long one.

Actually, after the game 7 final buzzer there were a whole lot of handshakes and hugs between Celtics and Bulls players. In fact I pretty sure there was a quote from someone in the Celt’s organization that they really appreciated the Bulls for bringing out the best in them. I’m not a C’s fan at all and I tend to agree that they’ve generally been a classless bunch this postseason but I gotta give them credit for that bit of post-game sportsmanship. Now, how do I think they would have acted if they lost?…different story entirely.

When your that close to the action your supposed to be looking out for 200 lb+ (in Baby’s case 300 lbs+) guys coming your way. Is there any other sport where fans are so close to the action? You ever seen when Shaq goes for a loose ball, everybody and their mother heads for the hills.
Although there is one case of Frenchman Cantana in English soccer running into the stands and jump kicking a fan.

The C’s don’t play any dirtier than anyone else, the celebration was par for a buzzer-beater, and that kid was lucky to be so close to the action.
I don’t get why everyone hates the Celtics. Is it because they win, or because they do it IN YOUR FACE, like real competitors? Either way, if you can’t handle seeing the winners win, then don’t watch.
