nope, it was a great hit.

  2. Ric Hardwood says:

oh hell yea… it is just a good hit, but the way they’re suspending people these days… that definitely qualifies.

  3. Clemo says:

rondo hasn’t been suspended for the chicago game so fish won’t be either…

he’s just being the motherf*cker the lakers need, right Andrew?

  4. Deez says:

he better be suspended for that nonsense.

  5. Curtis G says:

Why is this even an argument?

  6. hucklebuck says:

    Clemo-

Scola didn’t even have the ball when Fisher hit him. the Rondo/Miller was different.

by rule, it is definitely a suspension.

  7. Oscarisalakerfan says:

Definitely…..Great Hit and as a laker Fan im proud that the appear tougher that last years Buttersoft Team

  8. Wildes says:

Playoff basketball with hard fouls > playoff basketball with suspended players in suits

  9. peoples champ says:

that bitch was gonna dive whether he got hit or not – like OJ Mayo hs ref

  10. E$ says:

Any Laker fan call this tough is the definition of LAME. Portland kicks the Lakers azz on a daily basis & you’ve never seen the lakers come @ them like this. Fisher said he did it because of the Odom/Scola exchange. Premeditated

  11. Amar says:

if fish tried this when he was on GS or UT, he’d be kicked out of the L for defying the law of physics by knocking down a 6’9 guy on the ground.

  12. @lakersnation says:

No. 3 – EXACTLY . . if Rondo isn’t getting suspended for his SH!T (elbow, facial rape-age) . . then just fine Fisher 25k (i.e. Kenyon) and let’s move on . . i know the celts need help Stu and Stern, but don’t make it so obvious!

  13. Clemo says:

    @hucklebuck

I compared it to the Rondo/Hinrich situation… there was no ball and rondo just threw him into the scorestable… after that he tried to hit him with an elbow…

what fish didn’t was for sure a hard foul, but in comparison it’s not a suspention for me…. these are the playoffs…

  14. 24>23 says:

it was a hard foul and only that plus some acting from scola – fisher gets him directly in the chest and scola reaches for his face as soon as he hits the ground.. WTF?

  15. iLL Mago says:

WoW, I thought I as watching hockey for a moment. He shoulda gotten kicked out of the game but no suspension because A – Fisher does not do that stuff often and B – Scola’s flopping history.

  16. Flash says:

Missing the point…Fisher saw Scola, eyed him up and then put his entire body into him…Flagrant and most definitely an Ejection…

It was a thuggish play and all to “appear” tough…nothing accomplished there cuz the Laker’s still look like immature little boys. Anyone can hit, but that doesn’t make them tough in any way shape or form. The Rockets are playing with more class, more respect, and they only flex their “toughness” when they have to. So go ahead LA, be pseudo-manly in your own building, throw cheap shots when you can…

If there was ever an NBA player who should try his hand at acting, Derek Fisher is a guaranteed Oscar nominee…you see him wipe his head after the hit? Like “wow he ran into me really hard! Are you guys going to eject me after he ran into me so hard?”

Definite suspension for him and for Kobe too…Artest did NOTHING wrong but play the game of ball and let a punk bitch know that he won’t be trifled with.

  17. Dennis Castro says:

What possibly could Sasha have said to Scola after Fisher dropped him? I’m picturing asking about Scola’s hair products and how he gets that shine, because I refuse to believe Sasha is a man. He’s like the reverse Juwanna Mann.

  18. George W Kush Sr says:

Anyone who is a Laker fan DEFENDING Fish is a complete idiot. Sit your stupid ass down and shut da fuck up.

Scola didnt see him coming, Fish wasn’t even a part of the Scola-Odom-Walton exchange, his lil punk ass was waiting for Scola to set that pick and he threw his whole body into a player who didn’t even see it coming.

What do call it when someone does something dirty the other guy didn’t even see coming? A cheapshot. Ladies and Gents, the Lakers are still pussy. I wanna see them do that to the Nuggets. Go do that to Ben Wallace in the Finals. I thought so, pussies.

  19. George W Kush Sr says:

    “24>23 says:

it was a hard foul and only that plus some acting from scola – fisher gets him directly in the chest and scola reaches for his face as soon as he hits the ground.. WTF?”

I guess it was Scola’s chest that gave Fisher that cut on his head, not Scola’s teeth. I’m sure it happens all the time, bumping into someone’s chest and ending up with small lacerations on your head, right?

  20. hucklebuck says:

    Clemo,

okay, I thought u were talkin bout the Rondo/Miller foul.

    I see ur point.

  21. fiyaman says:

he should get more than 1 game.. that wasnt a foul the was a hit…thats not bball thats jailhouse ball

  22. Clemo says:

C’mon George W… Scola didn’t see it coming? fish was right in front of him when he hit him… Scola is just a pussay and the biggest flopper in the NBA… he should go and play soccer!!

Fish’s cut was from a play before… he said in the press conference that the big guys think they can push the little guys around like they want so he had to send a message…

  23. SI 44 says:

    Kush,
What the fuc has Ben Wallace done to make niggaz scared of him. He might be strong or whateva but anybody can get that ass seen on a given day. And the Nuggets, they might have a goon in Kenyon and even he got called fugazi by a non-descript nigga in Tim Thomas. I live in B’More now like a mile from where Carmelo grew up in McCullogh PJ’s, and while it is Iraqish out there he still balled out when he threw that punch, so y are they so thoro again. Maybe U jus pussy and wouldn’t buck up when challenged.

  24. Ric Hardwood says:

I’m disappointed in Fishdicks… you’re a veteran and you can’t even hide your cheapshot? c’mon… that was blatant! That wasn’t a good example of how the Lakers got “Tougher”… all that showed are their frustrations…

  25. Brown says:

Luis Scola is a pussy. Grabbing his face like Fish cracked him. Fish isn’t even tall enough for them to bump heads!

I hate that so many players in the NBA (I’d say the majority) have adopted the mentality of trying to draw fouls by flopping/acting/complaining to the refs. If NBA players are such good actors, why can’t they act like men?

  26. mules says:

the question should be will it be a one or two game suspension

  27. Drink the Haterade (KB24 Chip 09) says:

Sure are a bunch of haters out there!

Ron Ron got a lil crazy w/ Kobe, but hey the way I saw it was that Kobe was simply boxin out

And if Rondo didn’t get suspended then all 3 Fish, KB and Ron Ron should play game 3

  28. George W Kush Sr says:

    @ Clemo,

Scola didn’t flop on that play, Fish bodychecked the dude with his arm up and all his body weight. And about Fish’s comment about big guys pushing lil guys around, Scola didn’t touch Fish. Scola, Odom and Walton got T’d up, Walton is not a guard and Scola didn’t even touch him either, it was between Odom and Scola.

Fish got involved because he is their only enforcer. Now idiots like SI44 want to tell me that Fish would have just as easily tried that bodycheck on Ben Wallace? Or maybe the moron only follows the Lakers postseason and hasn’t realized that Denver is beating up on teams by average of 20 pts, that their bigs have more agressive than the comp’s. Maybe its because Chauncey and Carter are some of the toughest sons of bitches in the league and they will be Fish’s opposing guards. Listen bitchboy, you obviously resort to being stupid as a defense mechanism when you’re too stupid to understand things and start catching feelings.

The only thing you need to know is your team will not win the championship this year and the biggest reason why is because they’re all pussies. Now go yam on that.

  29. control says:

I haven’t commented in a minute (and fucking moderation on the site now, probably won’t get my comments through anyways)…but I had to speak out on this shit. Anyone who has been here for a while has heard me say that refs are ruining the NBA, and the recent playoffs have been a shining example of this.

Kobe/Artest was just two guys going for a position, no fouls should have been called, let alone Crazy Ronny getting the toss. What the fuck is that shit? You can’t touch a guy in basketball anymore? Last time I checked this shit was a contact sport, why don’t they just put everyone in bubbles and let them roll around like American Gladiators or something.

The Fisher hit was brutal. It SHOULD be a suspension, the guy is 6’2 and 220 with like 3-5% body fat. He’s a solid motherfucker, that hit would have knocked over a horse. There’s no way that was anything other than intentionally trying to fuck a dood up. His excuses for it are complete bullshit too, the guy has been in the league for a few decades and he ain’t ever see someone pull on a jersey (Oden excuse)? Or his other excuse about smaller guys always getting beat up? WTF, should smaller guys only walk instead of run because they are faster? Guy is really turning into a douche bag.

  30. control says:

WTF, can’t make a post without being told it looks spammy? That’s bullshit.

Rest of the post for any of you fuckers that care:

What the fuck is up with Rondo not being suspended for intentionally throwing a guy into the scorer’s table, and then trying to elbow him in the face? I guess if the mighty Rondo can get away with that shit, everyone should be able to. How does some alien crack whore looking motherfucker get a free pass while an MVP candidate Dwight Howard doesn’t? Complete bullshit, this shit is rigged.

As much as I hate Kendrick Perkins, and think he’s a horrible player, he has to be the most disrespected player in the NBA by the refs. Has the guy EVER gotten a call to go his way? As much as the refs favor the Celts, they make it up by hating on that guy worse than I do.

These playoffs are a fucking joke, there have been some great games, but the obviously HORRIBLE reffing just takes away from it all. They have to fire all the refs, and like someone else suggested, get all the GMs in the league together and decide a set of fuckin rules, and actually CALL the rules all equally.

  31. len says:

nope, no suspension. much more of a bump to the chest, as opposed to a hit to the face. theatrical by scola.

  32. B-Balla#1 says:

This is what I like to see- the kind of hard nosed basketball reminiscent of the glorious LA-Piston battle royales… personally Im tired of seeing all this pussyfooting and sad sack reffing.. just let the players play. Didnt quite expect this from Fish, but it definetly is message from LA – We aint to be f–ked with! Houston sucka ass b—hes!!

  33. Big Island says:

@Len, Theatrical? Fish had a cut on his head from Scola’s tooth. It was a cheap play, suspend him. Dudes do that in pickup games and you crack them in the head. Play hard, play tough, physical, whatever, but that was weak. Scola should take a game and knock Fish the fuck out on the very next pick he sets.

  34. iop says:

    of course suspension…..absolutely no doubt……….
but its the nba…..so you never know……….

  35. Diego says:

Blatant pop by Fish–accentuated by the forearm smash. Fish is not some frail little dude–he is the equivalent of a rugged running back running full force into a guy just standing there. With that momentum going, he is going to knock down anybody this side of Mark Henry.

  36. George W Kush Sr says:

    @ B-Balla#1,

I’d have to disagree on the message part. It actually screams that the Lakers have no backbone and bullying them will lead to them acting like lil bitches.

More and more in every face off, Artest is getting under Kobe’s skin. And its not like he’s shutting Artest down any, so he’s resorting to elbows and such, you think Stu Jax wont be reviewing that? He probably wont suspend him, but rest assured that the refs will be made aware of Kobe’s bitchassness and to shut it down. Kobe’s been getting flagrant the last two games, now they’re in Houston for the better part of the series, they’re fucked.

  37. doc says:

I wouldnt suspend him but the league done suspended players for less so hell yeah he should sit.

  38. that's whats up says:

Fish straight jacked Scola – 1 game is lenient

  39. Ashlov says:

I haven’t read all the spam in the comments section, so I’ll just go ahead with my opinion. He turned around, saw him coming, raised his elbow, and connected. Whether or not he meant to hit him where he hit him, I don’t know. But based on what I saw, he deserves at least one game.

That, and the Lakers need to be told to cut out that elbow nonsense before Artest has a meltdown and makes Kobe curl up into a fetal position.

  40. weezy f says:

theres a difference betweeen a hard foul and one with malicious intent. this was malicious intent suspend him 2 games

  41. lifep says:

    He put the smack down!

  42. the cynic says:

Based on intent I would suspend Fisher. The whole Odom and Scola thing started before Scola’s hard foul when Odom block one of Scola’s shots followed by more then a little taunting (which was fine, as was Scola’s foul). Fisher is an even bigger flopper then Scola. Of course Fisher has a quiet toughness if you ask him

  43. doc says:

seriuosly as hard as fish hit him, scola is a 6’9 240 plus individual. He will sometimes even step in at center. I freaking doubt that this lil midget could push scola down even if he tried. Acting at its finest THE NBA where flopping happens

  44. CCB says:

In the words of Puff, “Bitchassness” Fisher. I’d love to see him be a MF with Ron Ron.

  45. manouli says:

That was a great hit by fish and he’s safe from my criticism as long as he doesn’t make excuses. I think he would have been in trouble though if scola got back up to retaliate. fish did show signs of intent and this is a physical game but whether fish had intent or not, that was very obviously a hit and the nba would be heavily criticized if fish weren’t penalized. Addressing doc, fish is first of all a professional athlete and you can never assume stuff. he might even be bench pressing scola’s weight on a daily basis and the fact is, fish committed an obvious whatever you want to call whether it knocked scola down or not which it would be sacrilege if gone unpenalized.
