Hoop blog The No-Look Pass dug up the TV spot for NBA Jam this morning. And to go with the first commenter on their post, we actually don’t even remember this commercial either …

I remember that commercial. I grew up on this game. My first basketball video game was HOOPS for nintendo but NBA Jam was the first fun basketball game that was made for video game consoles.
I was able to play the new NBA Live this past weekend on my friends 52″ HD LCD. We were playing Lakers vs. Blazers and his neighbor stopped by. He took one look at the screen and said, “I thought the Rockets beat the Blazers?” The graphics were so realistic he thought he was watching an actual game. Just goes to show how far games have come.

Back in the day, I used to burn a hooter and go play this for hours at a local arcade. I customized a giant ass wolf, and while my buddy rained 3′s, I’d grab hella boards and block shots.
Crazy fun game back in the day, didn’t like the gaming system format too much. Get the actual arcade machine if you have the dough!

This was the one game where I could actually play as my favourite team, Atlanta. Nique and Plastic Man were awesome!!
We used to get about 6 or 7 mates together, chip in $10 (we were young) and play for the cash. Good times …
