NBA Trade Rumor: Blazers Will Deal Sergio Rodiguez to Knicks on Draft Night

Yahoo-Eurosport is reporting that the Knicks and Blazers have a deal in place for almost a month that would see Sergio Rodriguez being dealt to the Knicks on Draft night.
No word yet on the other pieces involved in the deal, but even if it is already set in stone, the Knicks don’t necessarily think they’re going to be all set at the point with Sergio in the mix. We know that they are planning on bringing in some mix of Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, Jonny Flynn, and Steph Curry to workout against each other in the next week or so.

Good, I have been sitiing on Sergio for two years in my dynasty. A perfect fit. They need a PG that runs and passes well and defense isnt a requirement, life is good.

If we were talking about Rudy Fernandez it would be something to get excited about.

Baby Huey says:
Dantoni is going to love having this guy, he can run a fast break with his eyes closed. He didn’t work out in Portland because he doesn’t fit Nate Mcmillan’s system, but he will be incredible in an up tempo system. As a Portland fan, I’m just happy that Sergio will finally get an oppertunity to show what he can really do.

@ Baby
Exactly my thoughts, he will flourish in that system

Same video we were so excited to see when we couldn’t wait to get him in a Portland uniform. I would give him away!

It’s funny I was mentioning the knicks getting this guy months ago. I’m telling you the knicks brass are reading our comments. Gormet(what ever his name is from Orlando) might come here too. A couple of people on knicks boards mentioned his name as well. He’s okay, but a good shot blocker.

wary says:
If this guy add on a little weight that would be good too. But he still could be good for the knicks without adding on pounds.

A$$Cube aka Stephen Who ? says:
That means the Knicks are going to draft Stephen Curry for the Blazers with the 8th pick, then trade him for Sergio, the 24th pick and a second rounder.

Good for Sergio if it’s true. But with Duhon, Nate, and whatever other guard they draft he might not get big minutes which will put him right back in the same situation he was in in Portland.

Bron42 aka Had Springs Before Slamball says:
didn’t d’antoni draft him back as a sun and then give him to portland for cash like they did rondo? I love how people get excited about euro guys cuz what they do overseas..spanish chocolate is nice but he coudlnt even get burn on the blazers when they were still young and considered to have no pg…won’t make the knicks any better.

Don says:
Anyone who knows anything about the NBA will tell you that up tempo players DO NOT thrive in a controlled offense. I don’t care who you are. Rodriguez’s style clashed with B-Roy, Aldridge and most of the rest of the Blazers. He would become a star in D’antoni’s system…maybe as good as or better than Nash was. He has the offensive skills. Unfortunately, his defense reminds me of Nash as well. That part won’t change much.

If the Knicks are smart they’ll take Curry at 8 if he is on the board. Curry will be perfect for the Knicks who want to run n gun. Curry can shoot all night.
