Your Favorite NBA Draft Memories

Althought I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: My favorite day of the year is the day of the NBA Draft. Kobe Expected to Re-Up for 5 Years, $135 Million

One down, three to go

Armchair scientists across the nation have a theory about preps-to-pro’s players’ bodies breaking down at an earlier age than someone who takes a more traditional route to the League. The logic makes sense – you demand too much from your body before it’s fully mature, and that results in damage to the knees, ankles and hips somewhere down the line.

But the Lakers don’t think that applies to the world’s best conditioned athlete. Read More »

NBA trade rumor: Al Jefferson, 6th pick to Phoenix for Amar’e

Amar'e Stoudemire

As championship parades go, the Lakers managed to throw a pretty good party yesterday. Although the whole privately-funded element and Derek Fisher‘s anti-Fun Police PSA threatened to put a damper on things, you have to give the L.A. fans credit for showing up in droves and being on their (nearly) best behavior, and credit to whoever paid for the parade for putting on a good event … Check out this snarky-ass line from the Associated Press story on the parade: “Taking a time-out from work or unemployment, 95,000 people filled the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to give a hero’s welcome to players and coaches.” So Adam Morrison was there after all Read More »

Dwyane Wade: “Kobe Bryant Is Still The Best Player In The Game”

D-Wade (photo. Mannion)

It’s a day of statements. The rowdy emcee on the mic at the LA Coliseum anointed Phil Jackson the undisputed greatest coach of all time, while Phil wore that stupid “X” hat that looked like something that you’d make at a kiosk in the mall.

And now Dwyane Wade is making a statement of his own: Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player in the game today. Read More »
